Keeping the tried and true free-to-play gacha mechanics,Zenless Zone Zerois a more action-oriented title, showcasing fast-paced combat and incredibly well animated characters battling it out in a more urban-style wasteland.Zenless Zone Zerocontinues to feature new charactersthrough limited time banners and frequently updates the game with new content from events to story missions to ensure players continue to log in often. However, for all of the game’s successes already, HoYoverse is acknowledging that things aren’t perfect, revealing a plan for dealing with some of the rougher edges and elements that fans may not be overly fond of.
In advance of the upcoming 1.2 patch, HoYoverse posted a detailed list of optimizations, changes, and enhancements coming toZenless Zone Zeroboth this week and in the future. For the next update, players will be getting new features like a Backup Battery Charge system, which allows players to exceed their energy limit. TheNotorious Hunt mode inZenless Zone Zero, which has been the only way for players to obtain rare resources for leveling Agents, won’t be the only way to earn these materials. HoYoverse will be adding new ways to farm the gear, while also allowing players to spend battery charge to obtain more even when the weekly limit is reached, as well as interact with Selectable Core Skill Material Chests at the Outpost Logistics Shop.
Zenless Zone Zero Planning to Rework Divisive TV Mode Gameplay
Alongside those improvements, HoYoverse also had plenty to say regarding the TV Mode Hollow Exploration. During these moments, players guide their proxy character through a TV maze, with various enemies, modifiers, and bonuses scattered throughout.PreviousZenless Zone Zeroupdateshave attempted to speed up this gameplay, though more changes are on the horizon, including a Fairy Auto Explore mode where the AI will automatically gather unclaimed Observation Data and rewards for already completed commissions. In addition, Blitz Operation mode is being added to Hollow Zero, letting players dive right into combat without needing to first explore the TV Board.
However, one of the biggest changes is planned with the1.2 Update forZenless Zone Zero, which will essentially replace the TV Mode entirely within the Main Story and all future storylines. HoYoverse announced that the TV Mode will be replaced with story stages, which are planned as the new way to experience the game. In terms of side content and commissions, it would seem the TV Mode gameplay will remain in place. For now, it’s clear that HoYoverse keeps an eye on fan feedback, so it’ll be interesting to see if these changes not only stick for the long term, but lead to any other big gameplay changes in future updates.
