HoYoverse’s newest live service game is a bit different from its contemporaries, focusing more on the Action RPG genre taking place in an urban, post-apocalyptic city known as New Eridu. However, similarly toGenshin ImpactandHonkai: Star Rail,Zenless Zone Zerohas seen no shortage of datamined and leaked details, typically well in advance of when characters and banners are announced. Confirming many of the recent leaks, HoYoverse has finally pulled the curtain back on the rapidly approaching 1.2 Update forZenless Zone Zero.
Known as Tour de Inferno, Update 1.2 forZenless Zone Zeroincludes a new story centered on the Outer Ring area of New Eridu, a barren wasteland where numerous factions compete over the abundance of resources located there. The Sons of Calydon will be the player’s main point of contact during Chapter 4 of the story as they look to take down their rival, The Vanquishers. As previously leaked, the1.2 Exclusive Banner will include the S-rank Physical Defense Agent Caesar King, who is armed with a sword and shield, able to deal massive damage while debuffing enemies. The second half will debut the S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent Burnice, who is able to quickly set the Burn effect on enemies thanks to her two flamethrowers. Finally, the S-Rank Bangboo Red Moccus will also be available to pull for, riding around on a custom speed wheel bike.
Zenless Zone Zero Tour de Inferno Update 1.2 Release Date
In terms of gameplay, Update 1.2 is adding a new Arcade Game at Goldfinger called Bizarre Brigade and introducing a new event called Overlord’s Feast where players take on a commission to help revamp an old diner in the Wastelands. The big reward for this event is getting the A-Rank agent Lucy. While teasing more events like Roaming the Ether, 141 Friendship Fair, and Ridu for You,Update 1.2 forZenless Zone Zerois also optimizing part of the game, making it easier to move around the TV Board within the Hollows, allowing players to automatically acquire all Observation Data and rewards on the TV board after finishing it for the first time, establish preset lineups for combat, as well as keep a backup battery charge. Players will also be able to practice with characters from different factions for free and obtain more rewards, earn new drive disks, and additional Investigator Training Courses at HIA.
For many fans, new characters are the major draw for HoYoverse games likeZenless Zone Zero, so much so, that leakers continue to delve into the game files to try and figure out who may be on the horizon. While some characters are still in development,dataminers have come across a few potentialZenless Zone Zerocharacters, including another Sons of Calydon character known as Big Daddy, as well as a new Thiren named Pulchra. InZenless Zone Zero’s world, Thirens are humanoid animals like Belobog Industries' own Ben Bigger, or Victoria Housekeeping’s Ellen Joe. For now not much is known about Pulchra, though the character appears to favor guns during combat and has cat-like features similar to Nekomiya.
