Summary
A YouTube artist has shared their love forThe Legend of Zeldafranchise by daring to 3D print a miniature replica of Hyrule. The iconic kingdom has been the backdrop for multiple games belonging to Nintendo’sThe Legend of Zeldafranchise, offering several points of interest, including Hyrule Castle, Lake Hylia, the Gerudo region, the Zora Domain, and many more.
Created and developed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka,The Legend of Zeldaseries is one of Nintendo’s flagship IPs, and the franchise has produced over 40 games centering around Link’s mission to save Princess Zelda and Hyrule from Ganon’s evil intentions. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomis the most recent addition to the series, following last year’s incredibly successfulTears of the Kingdom, andEchoes of Wisdom’s day-one updatepolished the game’s debut by addressing several issues with models, map data, music, and cutscenes.
Posted on YouTube by Jazza, a 28-minute video provided a behind-the-scenes look at the artist’s recreation of Hyrule in miniature form. Jazza confirmed the map measured 2.5 meters square and had a foam base with details created using the Balmbulab A1 3D printer. The design was inspired by themaps ofEchoes of WisdomandA Link to the Past, but the artist explained that the project had free rein to pay homage to severalZeldagame maps, includingOcarina of Time. After the individual models had been printed, Jazza painted everything by hand, from the giant trees to resin rivers, and the map was completed by adding a 3D model of Princess Zelda fromEchoes of Wisdom.
Zelda Fan 3D Prints Impressive Hyrule Map Miniature
The YouTube community had nothing but praise for the artist, stating the map was more of a “maxiature” than a miniature and asking where a model of that scale was going to be stored. One user thought a similar project bringingPokemon’s Kanto region to life would be a good idea, and several fans collectively believed Jazza was the most creative and enthusiastic individual on the platform. However, this isn’t the first time Hyrule has been 3D printed, as anotherZeldafan recently 3D printed a map replica fromA Link to the Past.
Echoes of Wisdom’s map size is eight times bigger thanLink’s Awakeningand includes iconic locations from the franchise, including Kakariko Village and the Faron Wetlands. In Jazza’s version of the map, the artist did a fantastic job of making several points of interest stand out, including Hyrule’s graveyard and the Death Mountain region, which highlighted his attention to detail.
