WithNintendo and Grezzo in charge of development,Echoes of WisdomPatch 1.0.1 coincided with the game’s full release. According toNintendo’s customer support website, Patch 1.0.1 addressed several issues that impacted gameplay. Although the patch notes did not specify which gameplay aspects were improved, Twitter user OatmealDome stated that more than 280 game files were changed in Patch 1.0.1. Some of the files that were updated included models, map data, music, and cutscenes. Users can updateEchoes of Wisdomto version 1.0.1 by connecting their Switch consoles to the Internet, hovering over theEchoes of Wisdomgame icon in the system’s home menu, pressing the Plus button, and selecting Software Update from the Options menu.
Nintendo Releases Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Patch 1.0.1
Theperformance ofEchoes of Wisdomwas initially stated to be worse than Grezzo’s previousZeldatitle, the 2019 remake ofLink’s Awakening. However, another Twitter user, Nintendeal, stated that Patch 1.0.1 ofEchoes of Wisdomchanged how the game handles frame rate drops. Nintendeal added that in version 1.0.0, the game regularly dropped from 60 frames per second to 30 without warning. The 1.0.1 update instead temporarily locksEchoes of Wisdom’s FPS to 30 in areas that cannot run at 60 until it can recover.
Althoughreviews forEchoes of Wisdomhave been positive, Nintendo and Grezzo are determined to continue addressing some of the game’s technical issues. It remains to be seen what further improvements will be made toEchoes of Wisdom, and with the Switch successor on the horizon, many wonder if these common technical issues will soon be a thing of the past.
