Summary
Fans think they spotted Lon Lon Ranch in a recentLegend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdompromotional clip. A new entry in the iconicLegend of Zeldaseries is now only a few weeks away, withEchoes of Wisdomserving as a spiritual follow-up to 2019’s Nintendo Switch remake ofThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The classic top-down perspective and toy-like visual style of that game are returning inEchoes of Wisdom, but now Zelda herself will be the main playable protagonist for the first time in the mainlineZeldaseries.
WithThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s September 26 launch date drawing ever closer, Nintendo has been showing off the upcoming dungeon crawler in action. This includes showing howEchoes of Wisdomreferences pastZeldagameswith classic locations and characters, with previous trailers featuring glimpses of the Gerudo Desert, Faron Wetlands, and Eldin Volcano among others. Eagle-eyedZeldafans have also spotted the engineer Dampe fromThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Timeand the Business Scrubs, who haven’t appeared in aZeldagame sinceThe Minish Capback in 2004.
Now players think they saw another classic elementfrom previousZeldaentriesin a briefThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomvideo shared on the Nintendo UK Twitter account. Said video features Zelda exploring various areas on horseback, and one of these seems to be the Lon Lon Ranch that first appeared inThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It appears toward the end of the video, with Zelda jumping her horse over a brown wooden fence into the famous farm. As pointed out byNintendo Life, this location was previously glimpsed in a previousEchoes of Wisdomtrailer back in August.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom May Incline Lon Lon Ranch
Lon Lon Ranch has appeared in several pastLegend of Zeldagames, including the previously mentionedOcarina of TimeandThe Minish Capas well as the 2004 multiplayer GameCube entryFour Swords Adventures. Run by Malon and her father Talon, the Lon Lon Ranch is known for selling the health-restoring Lon Lon Milk, a valuable commodity for Link during his many dangerous adventures. Both the milk and the farm it comes from are popular amongZeldafans, who have created their ownreal-life Lon Lon Milk bottlesand modded Lon Lon Ranch into games that it didn’t appear in, likeBreath of the Wild.
It looks like Princess Zelda could be visiting Lon Lon Ranch for some of its famous milk in the upcomingLegend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which is set to launch on Nintendo Switch later this month. It still isn’t exactly clear if the farm spotted in the recent videos is indeedmeant to be Lon Lon Ranch, but it would certainly be another fun nod to the franchise’s past for players who have once traveled to the famed farmland inOcarina of Timeand other classicZeldaentries.
