Towards the beginning ofThe Legend of Zelda:Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda’s hood is always up because events have forced her to stick to the shadows and not let anyone know her identity. But inpromotional art for the gameand in trailers, we can clearly see that the Zelda model being used does not have her hood up on the default Disguise outfit.

About halfway through the game, afterreaching a certain milestone, Zelda finally reveals her identity and takes off her hood, no longer fearing that her “father” the King of Hyrule will execute her for supposedly creating the Rifts. The hood will not stay down permanently, and it takes a bit of time to get to this point. But there are alternative costumes available that let you take off Zelda’s hood inEchoes of Wisdom, some of which can only be accessed after she reveals her Disguise.
