As part of its Tokyo Game Show 2024 celebrations, Microsoft has announced four games joining theXbox Game Passsubscription service later today. Microsoft doesn’t have nearly the same kind of foothold in Japan as its competitors do, but it’s not for lack of trying. Microsoft has made many attempts to break into Japan and Asian markets in general, securing huge JRPG exclusives back in the Xbox 360 days and working to bring some of the best Japan-made games to Xbox andGame Pass.

VariousFinal Fantasygames have been featured on Xbox Game Pass in the past, as havetheYakuzagames(some of which are still available to play on the service to this day). Xbox Game Pass is the cornerstone of Microsoft’s current strategy, and so it’s important for the company to fill it with a wide variety of games.

To that end, Microsoft is updating the Xbox Game Pass lineup today to add four more games to the mix. Today, Xbox Game Pass is adding theco-op gameAll You Need Is Help,Legend of Mana,Trials of Mana, andWe Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie. Out of these, theManagames are likely the most well-known, butAll You Need Is Help’s status as both a day one game and a game with local co-op may help it stand out from the pack.

New Xbox Game Pass Games Added Today

The sudden addition of four additional Xbox Game Pass games is a big deal, as September 2024 has been a surprisingly barren month for the service. It marked a rare time when the number ofgames leaving Xbox Game Passoutnumbered the games that were being added to the service, though that’s technically no longer the case. With the Tokyo Game Show additions, the number of games added to Xbox Game Pass for September 2024 and the games being removed are tied at 14 apiece.
