There are a lot of references inWorld of Warcraftto various bits of pop culture, and one of the most famousWoWreferences is the Dalaran Sewer Turtles. Originally found inLegionDalaran’s sewers, these four turtles could be found gathered around a Sewer Rat in anobvious reference toTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
With the destruction of Dalaran at the beginning ofThe War Within, though, some fans wondered what happened to these little guys. As it turns out, they’re alive and well, but they need the player’s help to revive the Dalaran Sewer Rat. After gathering some materials to help, players will berewarded with a newTWWpet: their very ownWoWNinja Turtle.
Dalaran Sewer Turtle Battle Pet Stats & Abilities
InWoW: TWW, the Dalaran Sewer Turtlebattle pet is a Rare quality Aquatic type petwith a unique feature when summoned. It has pretty high HP for an Aquatic battle pet, probably owing to its shell, and is strong against Elemental type pets, but weak against Magic pets.

When summoned, the game will randomly choose from one of the four Dalaran Sewer Turtles you meet at the end of the secret pet quest. These turtles have been in the game for a long time as a reference to theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesfranchise, and each of the four possible models wears a scarf that corresponds with the color of the Ninja Turtles – one is blue, one is purple, one is red, and the last is brown.
How To Get The Dalaran Sewer Turtle Pet
Before heading out to unlock the Dalaran Sewer Turtle pet,WoW: TWWplayers should stop by the Auction House to make things a little easier. Purchase 5x Dornish Pike and 1x Goldengill Trout – these can also be fished up from various pools around the Isle of Dorn, but it’s easier tojust purchase these relatively uncommon itemsoff the AH.
Once you have acquired the Dornish Pikes and a Goldengill Trout, head south from Dornogal to Freywold Village. Above the village, on the west side, you will find a Dalaran Sewer Turtle sitting on its own next to a sickly Dalaran Sewer Rat – the Turtle will tell you that Master Spl… I mean… the Sewer Rat needs some Fish to get better.
Offer the 5x Dornish Pike to the Dalaran Sewer Turtle, then wait for a few minutes. Around five to ten minutes later, talk to the Dalaran Sewer Turtle again. This time, it requires the Goldengill Trout. Give this to the turtle, then fly back to Dornogal.
Fly to the Stoneshaper’s Atrium and look for a group of four Dalaran Sewer Turtles gathered around the now-recovered Dalaran Sewer Rat, who is sitting on a nearby branch. This should be in the southern area of the Stoneshaper’s Atrium outdoor area, displayed on the map above.
Talk to the purple Dalaran Sewer Turtle to get the Turtle’s Thanks treasure. Finally, open the Turtle’s Treasure toget some Council of Dornogal reputationand the Sewer Turtle Whistle, which teaches you how to summon the Dalaran Sewer Turtle pet.
Whenever you use the Sewer Turtle Whistle one of the four Dalaran Sewer Turtles will appear by your side. They all share stats and take up the same slot – unfortunately, the four varieties of Dalaran Sewer Turtle do not count for four different battle pets.
