They have a selection of powerful racial abilities, including Ingest Minerals, which grants them the benefits of being Well Fed, but prevents them from eating or drinking to recover health or mana outside of combat.
Now,World of Warcrafthas filled this gap in the Earthen’s repertoire. Quiet Contemplation is a new abilityWorld of Warcraftgave to the Earthen in a hotfix on September 10. When used, Earthen sit on the ground and take in their surroundings, recovering health and mana as if they were eating and drinking. This lets classes with no easy ways of healing or restoring mana recover their resources quickly out of battle, even without access to food and drink.
Quiet Contemplation – New Earthen Racial in WoW: The War Within
This new Earthen racial ability does not have a cooldown, and the amount of health and mana it restores scales with the character’s level, making it useful for fresh characters and those who reach themaximum level inWorld of Warcraft: The War Within. In many ways, this new Earthen racial ability is like an endless supply of conjured Mage food, but for Earthen characters of any class.
AfterWorld of Warcraftidentified the issue of Earthen not being able to recover out of battle, it tried a few solutions, including special rock candy consumables, or the ability to recover at Brann’s campfire during Delves inWorld of Warcraft. Quiet Contemplation is a great solution to the problem, and adding it beforeMythic+ dungeons open inWoW: The War WithinSeason 1means Earthen will be able to recover their resources and push keys without worrying about slowing their party down.
Between a powerful Empowered ability, a bonus to Finesse for gatherers, a buff to their total Armor, and extra experience from exploration,Earthen have a strong selection of racials inWorld of Warcraft, even without Quiet Contemplation and Ingest Minerals. They are a great choice for new characters of any playstyle, so players should consider unlocking the Earthen if they haven’t already.
