November 23 marksWorld of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary. To celebrate, the long-running MMO is holding one of its biggest in-game events ever, featuring tons of in-game activities, instanced encounters, and new and returning collectibles. Among them, therevamped versions of the iconic Tier 2 set from VanillaWoWare some of the most exciting items players can obtain.
However, it seems these new versions of the Tier 2 sets have a special surprise in store for fans of certain classes. The Stormrage, Transcendence, Netherwind, Ten Storms, and Nemesis sets for the Druid, Priest, Mage, Shaman, and Warlock respectively are all robes that completely cover the character’s legs. That said,Wowhead discovered alternative leg optionsfor each of these outfits that swap the skirt for pants, giving a brand-new look to these iconic sets.
Pants Versions of Tier 2 Sets for WoW’s 20th Anniversary
Each of these Tier sets costs a total of 80 Bronze Celebration Tokens, earned by participating in anniversary events like daily quests and world bosses, or by finishing the weekly quests in Dornogal. After buying their first one, players will unlock the Upgraded Apparel achievement, which discounts subsequent Tier 2 sets they purchase, though by how much is not yet known. According to the Public Test Realm, theWorld of Warcraft20th-anniversary eventwill run from October 22 through January 7, so fans will have 77 days to pick up all the items from the event. The variant legs are ostensibly unlocked when players buy the corresponding Tier set ensembles.
Needless to say, fans are excited about these transmog variants. While the tube-like robes offer an iconic silhouette for many of these Tier 2 sets, such as theMage’s Netherwind Regalia inWorld of Warcraft, the enclosed skirt is not always the look players want for their character. Adding pants options not only gives fans a much-desired alternative, but also updates these outfits with more modern looks to mix and match with recently-released gear more easily.
Unfortunately, the Judgment armor – the most iconic Tier 2 set, and one of themost popular transmogs for Paladins inWorld of Warcraft– does not appear to have gotten a skirtless version quite yet. However, fans have already discovered alternative colors for several of these Tier 2 sets, so it is possibleWorld of Warcraftcould always surprise players with other new variants in the future.
