Witchfirecan be a little tedious for newcomers. While the Hermitorium and the Island of the Damned have beendesigned to prepare you for what to expectlater on, the included (and absent) tooltips could do a better job explaining some of the basics.

In the case of demonic ammo, chances are that you came across them during your first expedition inWitchfire. However, the game does not clearly explain how to use them with your current weapons. This is something that might be addressed during the ongoing early access period. Until then, here is what you should know about using demonic bullets.

Witchfire - Demonic Ammo in Inventory

How to Use Demonic Ammo in Witchfire

A commonmistake new players make inWitchfireis assuming that they can switch ammo types for their weapons. They cannot.Every weapon from the close, medium, and long range categories can only use standard ammo. For example, the Hunger hand cannon or the Hailstorm sniper rifle cannot be made to use demonic bullets instead of standard ammo. So how do you use demonic ammo inWitchfire?

The answer lies in the fourth weapon category.Witchfirefeatures three demonic weapons: the Vulture crossbow, the Falling Star grenade launcher, and the Whisper stun gun. Only these threedemonic weapons can use demonic ammoin the game.

Witchfire - Treasure Chests

Saint is the only class inWitchfirethat starts with a demonic weapon. The other classes must level up before being able to research demonic weapons from the Workshop in the Hermitorium.

While obvious, it must also be pointed out that demonic weapons cannot use standard ammo. They are some of themost powerful weapons inWitchfire, but will often be short of ammo. Hence, make every demonic bullet count!

How to Get More Demonic Ammo in Witchfire

Open your map to see if there is an ammo chest nearby. They are marked with the same standard ammo icon but also contain demonic ammo. In addition, you can find normal treasure chests that have a chance of dropping extra ammunition. If you manage to loot a Supply Key, use it to open locked chests for even greater loot.

Increasing yourLuck attribute at the Ascension Shrinehelps you loot more ammo in every run. Chests have a higher chance of containing ammo, and enemies have a higher chance of dropping extra ammo upon death.

You can alsobuy demonic ammo packs from the Collectorfor gold coins. He is a vendor that must be unlocked in the Hermitorium by reaching Gnosis 1. He also sells other equipment and items to help you on your expeditions. Leveling up Gnosis means increasing your difficulty though, so only do so when you can easily clear the first map, the Island of the Damned.

Lastly, you can unlock Phantom Bullets as a new Arcana. It adds a small chance to “rematerialize” a missed bullet back in the magazine. Cornucopia is a heavy spell that regenerates the last bullet after firing. However, this does not work with demonic weapons. It needs to be pointed out because some players start spamming their demonic crossbow thinking the spell gives them more ammo.
