When completing the ability challenges inStar Wars Outlaws, more often than not Kay will have to find at least oneKey Part. Usually, these parts are found in theKey Part Intelsection of the Journal. This system automatically creates a small fetch-quest for Kay, making the process of obtaining these parts fairly simple. However, there are a few rare exceptions. TheFlux Compressoris a perfect example, as it is still difficult to find even with thequest marker. This guide will help playersfind the Flux CompressorinStar Wars Outlaws, and use it to unlock theIon Smoke Bombability.
How to Get the Flux Compressor in Star Wars Outlaws
The Scavenger’s Abilities:
TheFlux Compressoris tied directly toThe Scavenger’s abilities inStar Wars Outlaws.Players will not see the Flux Compressor in their Key Part Intel until The Scavenger is unlocked, and hisIon Smoke Bombability is revealed. Once that happens, Kay will be able to collect this important upgrade item.
The Scavengeris unlocked as the Akiva portion of the main questline progresses. Because players have the choice of which planet they’ll visit after Toshara, it is possible for The Scavenger to be unlocked at multiple points in the game.
Where to Find the Flux Compressor:
Once you have the Flux Compressor in yourKey Part Intel, set it to active to get the general location. In this instance, because the terrain is difficult, having a quest marker will not be enough for some players.
The quest marker is a bit tricky, as it makes it seem like the part is located inland. However, the path to get to the desired location begins inThe Great Basin. Looking at the map above, you’ll see the starting point is directly west ofResearch Station 57, the Imperial base where Kayrescues Gedeek during the events of “The Droidsmith.” At the starting point, you’ll find a collapsed ruin that now forms a jump ramp for Kay’s speeder.
To collect the Flux Compressor, Kay will need to have the ability to destroy rocks with the blaster usingStar Wars Outlaws’Power Module.
Use theSpeed Boost and Jump abilitiesto easily clear the jump on Kay’s speeder. After the jump, Kay will have to proceed on foot. Not far along the path, Kay will encounter a gap in the rocks that is blocked by the orange moss-covered rocks. Use the blaster’s Power Module to clear the way and move on. The path is mostly straightforward, but if you feel stuck, ensure you look up to check for grapple points. There is also a turn that appears to be a dead end at first, until you approach the edge to find a small path around the outer edge.
Eventually, Kay will reachRover’s Lair, the location of the Treasure Chest that contains the Flux Compressor.
