The Casting of Frank Stoneis a very gripping supernatural narrative gameusing the Supermassive formula of storytelling. It has plenty of top-notch story telling and cutscenes to set the stage for when players take the reins, and in this time there areplenty of collectablesto be found. This includes12 small charmsknown as Trinkets.
Trinkets will be found inside small boxesand will have players needing to go off the beaten path most of the time to find them. There will also be many moments throughout the game when the player will find a box showing them all the trinkets they have found up to that point.
Chapter 1: Iridescent King
The first Trinket is actually right at the start of the game. Once the player is able to move around, they will receive the object “Find a way into the mill”. The area is very dark, but slowly panning the screen to the right will show a lamp. Head over to this location and there will be an opening in the fence directly under the lamp. Squeeze through the opening, and there will be a box on the ground with this trinket.
Chapter 1: The Wooden Horse
In this same chapter, there will be a cutscene between Sam and Tom. Afterward, Sam will drop down into an underground system of tunnels, along with receiving the objective “Find a way to the furnace chamber.” Once the player sees this objective, they will want to turn around and look for a yellow sign with “Furnace Access” written on it. They must then go in the opposite direction to where the arrow is pointing. After their first left turn, they will want to look at the right wall for a door that will lead to an empty room with a trinket box inside. Inside this box will be the Wooden Horse trinket.
Chapter 3: The Waterlogged Shoe
During this chapter, players will have a choice of different stores to visit. One of which will be the Drug Store — which is where this Trinket will be located. Once inside the store, head to the far right of the store and then look along the aisle. You will see the trinket box highlight once you move past it.
Chapter 5: Mother Daughter Ring
During Chapter 5, you will be given the option to climb or cross when you need to sneak into the mill. Choose to climb, and then stick to the left side. The player will pass by some trees on their left and then find a space between two rocks they squeeze between. Thanks to the game’s Twitch Integration, the player’s audience might vote for them to go this way on their own, or they might find themselves getting voted the wrong way.
Chapter 5: Tattooed Middle Finger
Once players have unlocked the option to use the Cutting Room Floor, they can replay this chapter and choose “Cross” as their answer. Players will eventually come to a wooden plank you will pass over. While traversing this plank, the trinket box should be highlighted. This box will be to the right after crossing the plank.
Chapter 5: Iridescent Head
There are three more Trinkets to come by in Chapter 5. Continue the story until Robert gets some flash lights out his backpack. Follow him through the tunnels until you see a large circular grate. When you see this grate, follow the left wall as you pass through the room. You will need to squeeze through a passage, but in doing so, you will enter a room with a key inside a box on the table.
You will pick up the Wooden Oni Mask before the next part of getting this trinket.
After filming the final scene of the film, head straight to find the Casting Foundry doors. Here you will need to head up the stairs and pull the platforms to create a series of jumps. Next, move the red trolly under the yellow tarp. Climb onto the trolley and up to the ledge with the tarp. Follow the path and use the jumps you made to reach the box with the trinket.
Chapter 5: The Wooden Oni Mask
Bonny will join up in a cutscene, and directly ahead of you will be some metal doors in the distance. You will find yourself back to where Sam entered the tunnels in Chapter 1. Head to the drain he opened to find the Crowbar. Pick this up and head to the metal doors to pry it open. Inside will be a box with the Wooden Oni Mask Trinket.
Chapter 5: The Blighted Rat Trinket
Once your objective is “Find a place to shoot”, follow the other characters down a metal grate pathway. Once the group gathers together, look opposite them to find some metal steps. Go up these steps and turn right to find a point you may squeeze through. Here you will find a crank. Head back up the metal grate pathway to find a box you can use it on to pull a platform close enough to get on. On this platform will be the final trinket of Chapter 5.
Chapter 6: Victor’s Soldier Trinket
Once your objective becomes to search the Reliquary, you will see a pair of wooden doors behind a fire-lit archway. Head to these doors and then turn right. The box with the trinket will be on the floor.
Chapter 7: Diamond Cufflinks
After being chased into the Wagon Shed, you will need to find a way to escape. This can be done using the Scissor lift after fixing the generator. This is also how you will be getting the next trinket. Once you use the lift to reach the upper area, look along the walls for a sign that says “Exit to rear yard” located to the left of an open door — this is the same sign and doorway from the cutscene after fixing the generator.
After moving through the doorway, watch the left side to find a break in the railing and a thin metal beam to the other side. Walk along this beam and the trinket box will be on the other side.
Chapter 12: Sacrificial Knife
Progress the chapter until the cutscene where the music box plays and follow the path that opens up. Head down all the stairs and follow the hallways while looking at the right side. You will pass by a small table with The Twins Rellik on it; the trinket box will be just past a curio next to this table — just keep looking at the right wall. If you see 2 large wooden doors, then you just passed it and will need to turn around.
Chapter 14: Blacksmith’s Hammer
The moment the chapter starts, follow the left wall. After making the turn in the hallway, you will see this trinket box before reaching the door. This is the final Trinket in the game, and sometimes having lots of collectibles like these can make players enjoy a game more than others. This can affect how its final review may turn out.
