CollectingHeart Piecesis an age-old tradition in theZeldafranchise, andThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomcarries the torch brilliantly into the future. From the momentZelda is set looseinto the open-world of Hyrule, she will begin to encounter Heart Pieces almost immediately. And while most of these health-expanding items can be found without many problems, there are a few that can be tricky to collect, even early-on. This guide will cover one such item, explaininghow to get the Heart Piece in Beach Cave.

How to Get the Beach Cave Heart Piece

Suthorn Beach Cave:

If you missed the Heart Piece when you originally passed throughBeach Cave, you can return to it byusing the fast-travel to Suthorn Village, then heading west. It is the cave you have to cross through to get from the beach area toSuthorn Village. If you are coming from the west, you’ll know you are entering the cave when you find the entrance blocked by severalSea Urchinenemies.

Boulder Echo:

You’ll need to make sure you acquire theBoulder Echoto get this Heart Piece. There may be other heavy objects that can get the job done, but if you want to get the Heart Piece as early as possible, the Boulder is your best bet. Luckily, it is impossible to miss the location, you just need to make sure you learn the Echo.

As you leave Hyrule Castle for the first time, you’ll enter a large hole in the ground to exit the courtyard. This will take you to a side-scrolling sequence with underwater sections. You’ll encounter the Boulder blocking your path. Approach the rock and press ZR to learn the Echo.

Simply Smashing:

When you reach Beach Cave, you’ll have to defeat a single Keese. Then, as you move ahead in the cave, you should be able to see the Heart Piece in a small chamber blocked off with wooden boxes. There is a higher platform that it seems like you will need to drop the Boulder from to break the boxes, but reaching the platform may stump you at first. With three available Echoes, it doesn’t seem like reaching the platform is possible. That is, until you notice the obvious rock wall staring you in the face.

If you missed the climbable rock wall, don’t worry, you aren’t the only one. The game does not appear to offer any hint that the wall is climbable. But this is, in fact, how you reach the higher platform. Follow these steps to collect the Heart Piece:
