Metaphor: ReFantazio’s unique twist on turn-based combat is the Archetype system, letting players mix and match different builds and skills on any party member with a great degree of freedom. How well a party member performs in battle is based on various stats which are also influenced by their Archetype.

There are five skills in total, with each having its own uses in battle. While your party members will level up and get higher stats on their own, the protagonist will get one free point to assign each level, making it important for players to know exactly what each skill does before investing points into them, like with therecruitment question.

What Does Each Stat Do In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Best Stats To Level Up In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best thing players can do is decide on a build early into the game and focus purely on dealing damage either from Physical or Magic spells. No matter which you pick, afew points in Endurance should be considered every few levelsas enemies will only continue to do more damage and their stats will quickly outpace the occasional Endurance point you get when leveling up.

Should you pursue a Strength build, it’s also helpful to invest a few points into Luck to increase your chances of landing a critical and getting more actions in battle since you won’t be hitting weaknesses. No matter how you build your protagonist, each Archetype has its own set of stats that will be added to whichever character equips it. Any character canuse any Archetype, with the protagonist being the perfect blank slate to use any in the game however effectively you build him.

Some Archetypes do work better on certain party members depending on the stats they get when they level up, though any Archetype can still be used effectively thanks to the stats from the Archetype.
