Summary
The release of7 Days To Die Version 1.0has seen lots of players diving into this zombie-infested universe for the very first time. Thiszombie survival gameis a difficult game to master. As players make their way through the game, they’ll discover lots of great POIs, hidden enemies, and lots of awesome loot.
While there are already lots of things that players can do in7 Days To Die,the Fun Pimps have even more things planned for the future. From new missions to crossplay features, there are plenty of things to look forward to that will be coming to the game soon.
1Console Crossplay
Play With Friends On Other Platforms
Crossplay abilities are in lots of online games. Being able to play with friends across different platforms is something that means a lot to many players. According to the Fun Pimp’s road map, theyplan to bring in some crossplay abilitiesbefore the end of 2024.
Unfortunately for PC players, it looks like crossplay will only be for those playing on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. It is unclear whether this will change in the future, as the Fun Pimps have mentioned crossplay for PC in the past. But for now, the developers are focusing their attention on bringing crossplay features to those on PlayStation and Xbox. It is also unclear whether crossplay via console will work through Microsoft and Sony or some third-party software.
2Weather System & Biome Progression Overhaul
Some Much-Needed Balance Fixes
While there are not a lot of details about these changes, the weather system change could bring in a new weather type. However, since it’s labeled an overhaul, there are most likely going to be some fixes to the existing weather types. At the moment, it’s not uncommon for the weather to change drastically multiple times per day. Since the weather changes are so frequent, it can have a negative impact on gameplay. So a fix on the weather system would be well-received by players.
As for the biome progression overhaul, there aren’t a lot of details to go by, but things seem to point toward some balancefixes regarding lootand enemies in each region.
3A New Faction Coming To The Game
Players Will Be Able To Take On Bandits
There are plenty of enemies in7 Days To Die.That said, there aren’t any enemies of the non-undead human variety. Asidefrom the traders, there aren’t any human NPCs in the game. In the second quarter of 2025, the Fun Pimps are planning to bring in bandits.
Bringing human enemies to the game has been in the works for several years. Now that it has been announced, players are excited to start battling enemies that can do more than hit, bite, and vomit. There are set to be three different bandit types coming to7 Days To Die:melee bandits, ranged bandits, and bandit leaders.
4New Quest Types
Take On Some New Missions
At the moment, there aren’t enough missions to keep players entertained during the late stages of the game. The missions themselves are good, but they can get quite repetitive after a while. According to the7 Days To Dieroad map, there are going to be a couple of new quest types that will be coming to the game through a couple of updates.
While there hasn’t been much information surrounding what type of missions they will be, one of the game’s moderators replied to a comment on the7 Days To Diecommunity pagestating that there will be new types of missions coming to the game. One new quest type is set to come out in the second quarter of 2025, and then another is set to be released in the final quarter of the same year.
5An Event System
Come Across Random Encounters
Random encounters play a big part in lots of open-world games. As players make their way through a certain area, there’s a chance to trigger a random encounter. While there aren’t really a lot of random encounters in7 Days To Die,that’s set to change in the second quarter of 2025.
The encounters will vary from bandit vs zombie battles to the player being swarmed by random enemies from outside whileclearing a POI. This feature will make the game a bit more unpredictable, which will help to spice up the gameplay.
6A Story Mode
A Long Awaited Feature
A story mode is something that players have been wanting for a very long time. While there are small pieces of information in the game that give the player a small idea of how they got to be where they are, there isn’t a story mode that walks players through what has happened.
The lore of7 Days To Dieis interesting. If this feature is released on time, then there will be a lot of happy players. As mentioned in a previous entry, while the game is a lot of fun, after a while, there isn’t a lot of content to keep the gameplay fresh.A story mode will change that and make the game much more interesting, especially for veteran players.
