The 10th episode ofTower of Godseason 2 was quite eventful as Kang Horyang, also known as Ilmar Beniamino, heads off into the darkness to find his brotherCassano, the real “Devil of the Right Arm”. Due to the similarity of their abilities, and the fact that Ilmar’s devil resides in his actual right arm, Team Khun Aguero attacks him, believing him to be the guy in the photo that has been going around. Back at the residence, Jue Viole Grace, who saw Ilmar off before he left, listens to the other members of Team Sweet and Sour as they talk about him and even worry, prompting him to pursue Ilmar to bring him back safely.
However, there’s more to this developing coincidence than it seems, and while people gather at The Hand of Arlen to meet a certain devil, someone tries to prevent this at all costs.
Xiaxia, The Informant at The Hand of Arlen
The Lady With Rabbit Ears
A central figure inTower of Godseason episode 10 isXiaxia, Light Bearer and informantin a village on the 28th floor, which is set against the backdrop of a giant hand that was supposedly part of a bigger statue that was destroyed. The scene highlights the one aspect of this season’s visuals that has consistently been done quite well, and that’s the backgrounds. Season 2, episode 10’s nighttime setting and the eeriness of the Hand of Arlen makes for a great place for brothers with a past like the Beniaminos to reunite.
Ilmar goes to Xiaxia to find Cassano, and she directs him to the hand, a point of interest turned den for criminals. The place has since been condemned, with traps set around it to prevent people from going there. Team Khun Aguero has a map with each trap location laid out, so Khun Ran goes around destroying them as Novick tries to get the Khuns to act more carefully in such a place. She becomes an important character because she gives both Ilmar and Viole information on finding “the Devil of the Right Arm”, but also because she’s clearly trying to talk people out of going to the hand.

A Voice Calls Out to Ilmar
Ran finds Horyang as he approaches the Hand of Arlen, misidentifies him as the Devil of the Right Hand and engages him, motivated to take down a powerful foe. Novick also joins the fray, using a high-speed boomerang-like disc in combat. Ilmar doesn’t want to fight because he’s there to find Cassano. There was a lot of flashy combat this episode, but the fight choreography is one-note and the sluggish animation; a primary concern for fans this season, didn’t help make the encounter more exciting. Khun Ran’s movements after his initial attack were extremely confusing and just took away from the impact of the encounter.After tanking Khun’s lightning attacksand powered up punches, Ilmar hears Cassano’s voice calling him to the hand, so he just runs there. His attackers pursue, and learn that there are actually two devils. Cassano tells them that he’s the one they’re looking for, and the two quickly engage.
Outside, Khun Aguero is attacked by a snakeman who knocks him to the ground in a single blow. As the assailant talks to himself about having his reasons for supposedly killing him, Khun stops playing dead and reveals that he was wearing armour under his cloak. As a Light Bearer, the assumption is that he wouldn’t be good in a 1-on-1 fight, but Khun flips this on its head, swiftly getting behind the snakeman and stabbing him in the back as he got information on who called the hit. The impact of this scene was greatly affected by the animation, unfortunately, and the use of speedlines to show swift movement even after the movement is done was a distracting choice. The snakeman tells Khun that he doesn’t know her name, but he was hired bya lady with rabbit ears.
Viole Heads Out To Help Ilmar

After hearing his teammates worry about Ilmar, Viole decides to follow him, arriving at the same informant and getting the same information; however, this time around, Xia Xia comes with him to help him navigate the numerous traps set around the point of interest. At least, that’s what she said, because when she realized that Viole wasn’t setting off any traps, Xia Xia deliberately set one off to impede him. She muttered something about not allowing anyone to get near the Hand of Arlen, but Viole didn’t hear her. Believing the area to be dangerous, Viole carries Xia Xia the rest of the way, briefly uncloaking her and revealing a pair of rabbit ears. This was a great development, and the waythis episode ofTower of Godended, fans will be counting the minutes until the next one.
