The Workshop Battle Arc Is Likely When Team Sweet And Sour Will Finally Run Into Bam’s Friends
Does Stray Kids' Return to Perform the OP/ED Tell Us Something About This Season?
The announcement made by Crunchyroll was short and sweet, revealing that Stray Kids will be doing both the opening and ending theme songs of the upcoming Workshop Battle arc. A very brief bit of animation followed, but it was far too short to be able to glean any kind of improvement on the disappointing visuals that have plagued the second season ofTower of Goddespite a fairly strong start. Jokes began to fly following the news that the upcoming arc’s themes will be performed by Stray Kids, with fans saying the animation troubles faced by The Answer Studio are due to the budget being depleted by the booking of such a major group in the K-Pop scene, which is humourous but could that possibly be the answer?
The Answer Studio Co. Ltd is credited for the animation production ofTower of Godseason 2, and they also did key animation on episode 3 of the first season, but like with any anime project, there are a number of other studios involved in the animation working on different episodes.
Other than the main production studio change, according to information available on ANN, the list of companies and individuals working on the second season is far shorter than that of the first season, which may imply a much smaller budget for the series in general. Anime production companies are the ones putting in money to produce a show, so a smaller production committee may translate to less money.
When it comes to anime openings, how a specific song is chosen depends on various things, and the production committee may include a music label whose artists' songs are available to use within the production, but other times the director may have a song in mind. The Workshop Battle arc isa very important juncture in theTower of Godstoryand will most likely be the point at which the previous season’s cast and the current cast will cross paths, and a return of the artist behind the first season’s opening could be a nod at this aspect of familiarity.
