All threeTimesplitterstitles on PlayStation Plus Premium have finally been patched with trophy lists. TheTimesplitterstrilogy was added to PS Plus Premium last month, but trophy hunters were left disappointed as none of the games featured trophy support at the time.
The PS Plus Premium classics catalog has been considerably improving in recent months, as the new PS2 emulator has allowed for a plethora of games from that era to be brought forward to PS4 and PS5. However, since trophies weren’t around back then, they have to be retroactively patched into these classic titles, with evenPS1 games likeHerc’s Adventuresadding trophy supporton PS Plus Premium. It was much the same story when theTimesplittersgames were added to PS Plus Premium in August 2024.
Publisher Deep Silver confirmed thattrophies were under consideration for theTimesplitterstrilogy, but didn’t provide any timeline for when they’d be added to the games. Thankfully, the trophy support patch has arrived in under a month forTimesplitters,Timesplitters 2, andTimesplitters: Future Perfecton PS Plus Premium. As expected, the PS4 and PS5 versions of theTimesplittersgames have separate but identical trophy lists, with the first two titles offering 21 trophies each andFuture Perfectsporting 26.
This news will no doubt be welcome to trophy hunters who were holding off on theTimesplittersgames on PS Plus Premium until trophy support was added. TheTimesplittersseries is also deemed by many as some of thebest first-person shooters on the PS2, so it’s great to see the trilogy being accessible on modern hardware, that too with trophy lists. With the recentTimesplitterspatch, the number of third-party classics with trophy support on PS Plus Premium has grown to 10, and this list will most likely grow over time.
As for theTimesplittersfranchise itself, fans shouldn’t hold their breath for any future games at the moment. A newTimesplittersentry was in the works a few years ago, butdeveloper Free Radical Games unfortunately shut downlast December, taking away any and all hopes for the project. TheTimesplittersIP still lies with Deep Silver, though, so the publisher could possibly contract another studio to work on a newTimesplittersgame, but nothing of the sort seems to be in development right now.
