Thanks to this arc, viewers get to know more about the various quirks of the students in Class 1-B. Even better than that, they get to see the interesting dynamics between different characters and how the students from both classes come up with different strategies to take down their opponents. This is such a fun story arc and definitely an improvement over the U.A. Sports Festival arc.

When we hear the word “Hero”, the first thing that comes to mind is somebody with a superpower who goes around saving people and beating villains. Thanks to theProvisional Hero License Exam arc, we realize that there are a lot of nuances in the profession hero profession. From what to do during natural disasters, the proper way to rescue injured victims, and even what the heroes should do when they have to rescue a lot of victims while fighting against a group of villains at the same time.

My Hero Academiahas its fair share of villains who are part of organized crime, each posing their own dangers and pursuing their own objectives. The one who truly poses a threat to both heroes and regular people alike is none other than Shie Hassaikai, a Yakuza group led by a deranged young man namedKai Chisaki, also known by his villain name, Overhaul.

Overhaul manages to create a serum that can permanently erase somebody’s quirk, and he fully intends to mass produce it in order to create a world where only a select few people can have quirks, with Shie Hassaikai ruling at the top. There are a lot of thrilling battles in this arc, some of which are quite heartbreaking. It’s just an all around solid story arc.

The Paranormal Liberation War arcis undoubtedlyMy Hero Academiaat its finest. So many interesting things are happening in the 54 chapters of this arc. Hawks infiltrating the enemy’s organization, the raids on the villains’ headquarters, uncovering the secrets of the Nomu, the return of the evil overlord, the death of numerous iconic characters, and the shocking revelation of Endeavor’s past, just to name a few.

This arc contains so many pivotal moments that forever alter the trajectory of the characters involved. Within this single arc, we get to see intense action sequences, heartbreaking drama, a spy thriller, tragic flashbacks, and a series of mind-blowing twists. Even the overall atmosphere of the series becomes darker, especially with the addition of public distrust and scrutiny that makes the story even more grounded and believable. That’s why we truly believe that the Paranormal Liberation War arc is one of the best story arcs inMy Hero Academia.

The War to End All Wars

My Hero Academiais excellent at directing a scene involving a crowd of characters, andThe Final War arcis a testament to this series’ masterful crowdwork. In order to increase their chance of defeating All For One and his armies of villains, the heroes use the classic divide-and-conquer strategy. They forcefully drag the villains into different locations and defeat them one on one. From Deku vs Shigaraki to All For One vs Armored All Might, there are so many iconic battles happening throughout this arc.

The only blemish to this wonderful arc is the fact that it is a tad too long. There are moments when the story feels dragged out and loses its momentum. For reference, the recenthit mangaHell’s Paradise: Jigokurakuonly has 127 chapters in total, while the legendary mangaDeath Noteonly has 110 chapters. So yes, 82 chapters for the final story arc is indeed a tad too long. Other than that, the Final War arc is undoubtedly one of the most intense story arcs in the series. It’s a proper final arc for such an iconic manga series.
