There are only 50 side quests inEchoes of Wisdom. Most are very easy or require you to defeat bosses, but then there are those like “The Flames of Fortune.” ThisEchoes of Wisdomside quest can be tedious if Zelda isn’t quick enough. you may find this task in the Eldin Volcano region, and you’ll need the help of Tri’s Grab Ability to get the job done. Before you can start “The Flames of Fortune,” you’re going to need to complete the Eldin Temple and clear away the rift.

The Flames of Fortune Walkthrough

Left of Lizalfos Burrow where you found Elder Silv, there’s a cliff that you can reach with the Climber or Platboom Echo. At the top, you’ll find a Goron standing between a small hot spring and a fall of lava. Speak to the Goron to get “The Flames of Fortune” side quest. This requires you tocarry a large flaming coal to the Goron on the right (Limme) outside Goron City’s entrance. You can carry objects with the Grab Ability(X-button), but you’re timed. The coal willextinguish and break if it doesn’t touch lava. If the coal burns out/crumbles, you’ll need to return to the Goron to get a new one. It’s also important that you avoid getting hit by enemies while carrying the coal, since Zelda will drop anything she’s holding if she’s hit.

you may try and clear away the monsters near Lizalfos Burrow before starting the quest if you think it’ll make it easier.

Best Route for The Flames of Fortune (Echoes of Wisdom)

If you look at the map (above image), you’ll notice that the path to Goron City is directly southeast. You can reach it quickly by jumping from the cliff and into the area with the Lizalfos Burrow. Keep going right and jump down againnear the Smoothie Shop, and keep going right to deliver the coal. You’ll need todrag the coal over the hot spots on the groundto keep it going. You can also dip the coal in lava, butdon’t let it sit too long, or it’ll sink.

While notrequired, having the following Echoes can make this side quest a bit easier:

Flying Tiles make it very easy to cover ground quickly. Platbooms are useful if you need to reach a higher ledge. Be careful using Platbooms, since they’ll knock back Zelda when summoned. This can cause her to drop the coal and possibly break it. As such, it may be better to just use the Flying Tiles. You can get the Flying Tile from the Gerudo Sanctum dungeon, or from a cave at the far northwest of Gerudo Desert. The Platboom Echo is located down a ladder behind the Gerudo Palace. You’ll need a Crawler to climb up the cliff, or you can stack objects such as tables or crates.

Here’s another way to complete the quest (refer to thepink line in the above image):

Where to Use Might Crystals

Limme will give you two Might Crystals for all the hard work. It’s a somewhat underwhelming reward if you struggled with the quest, but Might Crystals arenecessary for upgrading Swordfighter mode. You’ll only need 125 Might Crystals to upgrade all of the Swordfighter mode’s perks, but you can collect every Might Crystal (150) for a special reward.
