Summary
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2is the much-anticipated sequel to the 2011 title,Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. Both titles are set in the grimdarkWarhammer 40,000universe, wherein multiple factions vie for control of the universe in an endless conflict.Space Marine 2sees players take the mantle of the fearsome Space Marines in their fight against the hivemind of the Tyranids. This fight takes place across the main campaignand the Operations mode, whereas the PvP mode sees players represent either loyalist or heretic Astartes chapters in 6v6 PvP matches.
A large portion ofSpace Marine 2, seen throughout each available mode, is thecosmetic customizationthat players can unlock. This customization allows players to represent theirfavorite loyalist and traitorchapters, or even create their own unique appearance, working towards unlocking different ornamental armor pieces, paints, chapter icons, and weapon skins. This customization feature is the main meta-progression element throughout each of the modes and allows players to experience the same creative freedom that they’d get when paintingWarhammer 40,000miniatures.
6Blood Angels
Chapter Cosmetic
One of the most beloved chapters withinWarhammer 40,000is theBlood Angels. Formerly the 9th Legion, the Blood Angels are a loyalist chapter, and a highly decorated one at that, being one of the most feared and respected chapters due to their combat prowess. The Blood Angels are unique, as they are cursed and haunted by thevisions of their Primarch, Sanguinius, dying at the hands of Horus. These accursed visions get worse as Blood Angels get older, and as such, they fight hard so that they may die in battle and avoid becoming crippled by their visions.
The Blood Angels are known and easily recognized by their crimson-red armor, decorated with a black insignia, a telltale sign of every Blood Angel.Space Marine 2lovingly re-created the color scheme and insignia for players to unlock and use while they play. To unlock the full Blood Angels chapter cosmetic, players must go into the Heraldry menu and unlock the Blood Angels icon, the Mephiston Red paint color, and the 1st Company icon. All of these can be unlocked using requisition points.

Bolt Pistol Skin
TheBolt Pistolis astandard sidearmof the Imperium of Man, prominently used by the Space Marines, Imperial Navy, and the Astra Militarum. The Bolt Pistol is a smaller version of the Bolter, offering a smaller magazine size but increased maneuverability.
TheDrogos Reclamationskin for the Bolt Pistol is one of the more understated weapon appearances inSpace Marine 2.The skin features slight adornments to the weapon which give it a unique style, such as the various logos and seals, as well as the thick chain wrapped around the barrel, not dissimilar to the deathwatch chain Titus wears. Players can unlock this weapon skin in both Operations (by obtaining 7500 experience points with the Bolt Pistol), and Eternal War (by winning 11 matches with the Bolt Pistol).
4Ophelian Liberation Beta
Bolt Sniper Rifle Skin
The Bolt Sniper Rifle is a high-powered projectile-based rifle, mostly used by forces within the Imperium of Man. The most common place to find a Bolt Sniper Rifle is in the hands of Space Marine Scouts, who are lightly armored units who operate far more stealthily than the standard Space Marines. Players will find use for the Bolt Sniper Rifle in-game as aprimary weaponwhen using the Sniper class in either Operations or Eternal War, as well as when selected as a loadout weapon within the campaign.
TheOphelian Liberation Betaskin is adorned with seals, as well as a gold trim to signify the status of its wielder. The abundance of gold on the weapon will mean players can match it with the regal adornments to their armor, creating a truly impressive and important-looking Space Marine. Players can unlock the Ophelian Liberation Beta skin by winning 22 matches in Eternal War while using the Bolt Sniper Rifle, or by reaching 17,000 experience points with the weapon.
3Relic Primus
Vanguard Armor Set
The Vanguard class inSpace Marine 2is one of the more mobile and fast-paced ways to play the game. Vanguards utilize a grapnel hook in order to traverse the map or grapple towards enemies. They utilizeBolt Carbinesand smaller weapons, along with their smaller amount of armor, to gain a speed advantage in combat.
The Vanguard class has one of the more unique designs withinSpace Marine 2. Earlier iterations don a skull-face design on their helmets, which gives way to the half-face mask design the later skins have. TheRelic Primusarmor set for the Vanguard is especially unique, given the prosthetic arm that the skin sports, alongside the more standard golden accouterments. Players can unlock the Relic Primus armor set for the Vanguard Class by winning 36 Eternal War matches or succeeding in 36 Operations while using the Vanguard class.
2Gathalamor Crusade
Chainsword Skin
The Chainsword is theprimary melee weaponof the Imperium of Man, often seen wielded by various Space Marine chapters. Variations on the Chainsword, however, are used by most other factions. The brutality of the Chainsword is unmatched, with sharp motorized teeth tearing through opponents with unparalleled violence. Chainswords are famous weapons on the battlefield, with their motor being heard by many a Chaos or Ork when finding themselves face to face with a Space Marine.
Despite the brutal nature of the Chainsword,Space Marine 2offers an ornate, golden design to wield in combat. The name of the skin,Gathalamor Crusade, is likely evoking the Battle of Gathalamor, a conflict within the Indomitus Crusade. This conflict saw the Imperium defend the holy imperial planet of Gathalamor Prime from Chaos invading forces. Players can unlock this weapon skin by obtaining 17000 experience with the Chainsword in Operations, or by reaching Veterancy Level 11 and then winning 21 matches for Eternal War.
1Relic Secundus
Tactical Armor Set
The Tactical classinSpace Marine 2is inspired by the Tactical Marines of the largerWarhammer 40kcontinuity. They are the most common squads, and are made up of firstborn marines who lack the enhancements afforded to their newer Primaris counterparts. They are well-versed in multiple forms of combat and often come with a great deal of experience.
It is fitting then, that players can kit out their Tactical class with theRelic Secundusarmor set. While it is available for all classes, the Relic Secundus armor set looks perfect when placed upon a Tactical Marine, with the red sash complementing the plethora of gold fineries that adorn the rest of the armor. Players can unlock this armor set for the Tactical class through the successful completion of 35 Operations, or by obtaining 35 wins in Eternal War.
