Summary
Star Wars Outlawshas a lot of great characters in it that help protagonist Kay Vess out in a myriad of ways. There’s ND-5, her droid bodyguard that relays messages to her from Jaylen Vrax. Danka Orsato is a broker who shares no allegiance to any particular Faction and gives Kay missions from all of them.
Then there are the Experts inStar Wars Outlawsthat grant players abilitiesfrom increasing HP to increasing inventory space for items. There are nine in total, most of which are tied to side quests. It can be difficult to find them all, so let’s go through how they come into play, what role they play in the game, and what great abilities they bestow. There will be spoilers.
9MT-7 (The Veteran)
A Late Game Companion To ND-5
MT-7 is a late-game recruit inStar Wars Outlawsand is a decommissioned battle droid like ND-5. The Expert quest is one of the most involved in the game which has players search for yellow containers with hidden messages inside in space. It’s hard to track these logs down but once players do they can begin the MT-7 quest proper.
The best skill players can learn from MT-7 is called Adapt which will increase how much a Bacta Vial will heal for. Most of the skills are health-related or boosting Kay in general so they are good, it’s just hard to justify going through the quest process so late.
8Aila Bren (The Slicer)
A Good Companion For Slicing Enthusiasts
Aila Bren should be one of the first three Experts players will unlock inStar Wars Outlaws. She’s holed up in an Imperial base on Toshara and players have to help break her out. She’s a hacker, ora slicer as they call them in theStar Warsuniverse, and most of her upgrades will help with Kay’s slicing abilities.
They’re good for players that like to slice although settings can deflate that challenge without Aila’s help anyway. Her best upgrade is called Lightfooted which will deafen Kay’s footsteps while sneaking around.
7Teeka (The Hotfixer)
Getting Discounts And Improving Nix
Teeka is a Jawa, a race known for being great at haggling and finding junk. In that way, many of the upgrades relate to improving Kay’s gadgets in battle. The quest is not too involved but since it’s hard to understand Jawas in general, players won’t form much of a connection with Teeka.
Still, the Cheeky Explosion perk is well worth the time players need to invest in acquiring Teeka on Tatooine. This will give Nix the ability to explodegrenades on enemies inStar Wars Outlawswhich is quite the cheeky little exercise indeed.
6Lando Calrissian (The High Roller)
A Classic Character With A Tricky Hand
Lando Calrissian is one of the most important characters in the franchise and he makes agreat cameo inStar Wars Outlaws. Players will come across him on Akiva when they attempt to get into a Kessel Sabacc game which is kind of like poker meets golf.
Several of his skills relate to the card game but there is another that will turn Kay into a deadly machine. Just Improvise will distract enemies if they come upon Kay sneaking around. This will fill her Adrenaline meter, allowing players to dispatch many enemies with ease in a slow-motion execution move.
5Rooster Trace (The Mercenary)
Making The Most Of Disposable Weapons
Rooster Trace is a mercenary seemingly out of the game until Kay pulls her back in. Players have to find Rooster’s cache of weapons and when they do, they need to fight off an army of Stormtroopers to secure the payload.
It’s a fun mission that gives players the ability to wield a Gatling Gun and most of Rooster’s skills relate to disposable weapons or attack improvements. For example, I Like This Thing is a skill that will add more ammo to thedisposable weapons that players can pick up inStar Wars Outlaws.
4Temmin Wexley (The Scavenger)
A Great Character With Some Unmissable Skills
Temmin Wexley is a surprise cameo inStar Wars Outlawsbecause he is not a huge name akin to Lando or Han Solo. He appears as an older man in the newer trilogy as one of the Rebel pilots under Poe’s command. Players need to recruit him in the game’s story to give Kay’s Speeder the ability to glide over deeper water trenches which makes the vehicle more versatile overall.
Because he is story-related, there’s a lot to like about him but he has some good skills too. Survivor is one of many variants that can increaseKay’s health inStar Wars Outlawsand Electro-Shock Prod can knock out elite enemies, like bigger droids or Gamorrean Guards, with a stealth attack.
3Quint Cresadde (The Gunslinger)
Increasing The Potential Of Adrenaline While Looking Badass
Quint Cresadde is a sheriff in a small village on Tatooine who used to work for the Hutt Cartel. They’re constantly terrorizing her for ditching but thankfully this gunslinger has the moves to make them stop dead in their tracks. Quint would fit right in with a Western game like Red Dead Redemption as her quick draw skills are unmatched, making her a complete badass.
Adrenaline Rush Mastery is her best skill which is an automatic one upon recruiting her. This will increase the number of targets players can mark and execute during their Adrenaline Rush time from three to five. It will turn Kay into a powerhouse especially combined with Lando’s skills.
2Selo Rovak (The Mechanic)
Skills In Perceiving And Deceiving
Selo Rovak should be another early recruit for players on Toshara. She’s the first one who can upgrade the Speeder significantly by adding a booster as one of her skills. Players can also add a jump to it which will make exploring the planets easier inStar Wars Outlaws.
She has one of the most stacked skill decks in the game too even though she won’t have much of a presence in the story. Scoundrel’s Pouch will increase the limit of Bacta Vials and grenades, Treasure Hunter will highlight chests players can loot using Nix’s radars, and Smoke Bomb will discharge a cloud of smoke upon deployment.
1Bram Shano (The Bartender)
A Quality Amount Of Upgrades From The Start
Bram Shano has an equally stacked deck next to Selo but is more significant because he is Kay’s surrogate father. When her mom abandons Kay, Bram watches over her. He even gets shot for her in the early stages of the game but thankfully he survives. He’s a touching character that gives Kay what she needs to survive from a loving embrace to a room.
Armored Undershirt will increase HP, Fast-Talk is the earliest version of Just Improvise from Lando, and I Know Someone will unlock vendor quests. Bran’s skills are almost essential to surviving the trials of the game, easily making him the best Expert.
