Summary
TheStarfieldmodding scene continues to go from strength to strength with the release of the Creation Kit, the introduction of the Creation Store, and the creation of key community mods such as the Starfield Script Extender - already one of themost downloaded modsforStarfieldon the popular Nexus Mods website. Not quite as popular as theFallout 4orSkyrimmodding scene, theStarfieldscene is still in its infancy yet has a lot to offer anyway.
In a departure from their usual way of doing business, Bethesda Game Studio has been getting in on the action themselves. As part of their hybrid Creation Store, which offers both paid andfree modsdubbed ‘Creations’ by the studio, Bethesda Game Studio offers its own official Creations - some for free, some at a cost. One advantage these official Bethesda Creations have over the competition is that they’re allachievement-compatible,meaning players can add them to their saves without ruining their ability to earn Steam or Xbox Achievements.
10Ancient Mariner Module
New Habs in an Old-Style
The Ancient Mariner Module from Bethesda Game Studios topped the monthly popularity charts in the Creation Store, and it’s easy to see why, as these new ship interiors are simply gorgeous to look at. Stuffed to the brim with old-world charm, the Ancient Mariner Module brings a touch of sea salt toStarfield’sBlackest Sea.
At a cost of 1000 Creation Credits, the Ancient Mariner Module is fairly pricey, but the quality is high and the overall look and theme are perfectly realized. Not only does this Creation look great, but it adds a much more homey feel toStarfield’ssomewhat sterile defaultspaceship habs.
9CombaTech Digital Camo Skin Pack
CombatTech Weapons with Style
This paid Creation adds brand-new skins to seven different weapons from the in-world CombaTech arms manufacturer. AlthoughStarfieldshipped with a ‘Skins’ category in its weapon modding system for every weapon, very few weapons actually had any skins available.
For players looking to add new, official skins that don’t break achievements, the CombatTech Digital Camo Skin Pack is the perfect addition. The textures are great and really do make the weapons feel different.
8Allied Desert Camo Skin Pack
Chic Desert Camo for Multiple Weapons
The Allied Desert Camo Skin Pack adds brand new skins to eight different weapons, including the popular Urban Eagle pistol along with others such as the Orion and Sidestar. The new skins look great and add a fresh new feel to each of the weapons.
They do however come with a 300 Creation Credit price tag, which might not be worth it for some players. But as with all of Bethesda Game Studios' official Creations, the Allied Desert Camo Skin Pack is totally achievement-compatible.
7Constellation Plushie Set
The Whole Gang Together
For fans of interior decoration, the Constellation Plushie Set is a must-have. This cute little set of decorative items renders the companion members of Constellation - including sassy robot Vasco - in stuffed miniature form.
These new items are charming, with a look reminiscent of Funko Pops, and can be constructed anywhere there’s access to the in-game crafting and decoration menus.
6Creature Plushie Set
Cuter and Infinitely Less Dangerous than the Real Thing
The Creature Plushie Set takes some ofStarfield’scutest and most popular alien creatures and repackages them into a much friendlier form. There’s certainly no danger of attack from these little guys.
These cute plushie forms of much more dangerous creatures are the perfect decorative companions for player housing, outposts, and ships, bringing that personal touch to these spaces.
5Shattered Space Plushie Set
First Look At Brand New Horrors
The Shattered Space Plushie Set gives players a sneak peek at an all-new enemy and creature types found inStarfield’sfirst major expansion,Shattered Space. Shattered Spaceis said to include all sorts of new content, with extra-dimensional horrors being part of the deal.
Those on offer in the Shattered Space Plushie Set aren’t that scary, but that just makes them perfect decoration. Great for fans of decorating, and a nice teaser of the firstStarfieldDLC.
4Observatory
Look to the Stars… Literally
The Observatory Creation adds a brand new observatory building for use in player outposts. This new building is pretty substantial, with an interior featuring cool new objects. This is a stylish add-on that adds to the theme of an outpost.
Unfortunately for anyone looking for a functional observatory, the observatory creation is more like a unique type of hab than a functional item. But it does look pretty cool in the game.
3Starborn Gravis Suit
Literally the Best Spacesuit
The Starborn Gravis Suit is an extremely powerful one-piece spacesuit consisting of all three pieces: boost pack, helmet, and suit itself. It’s a legendary suit with powerful mods that is the most powerful suit in the game - especially at lower levels.
This free Creation becomes available very soon after starting the game, so players looking for a massive power-up need to look no further than the Lodge in New Atlantis for everything they’ll ever need.
2Escape
Escape Rooms in Space
A brand-new, official quest created by Bethesda Game Studios itself, Escape is a quest that brings a spooky touch toStarfield. This is essentially an escape room in space, with a particular ambiance of its own. The objective of this quest is to escape an abandoned space station… without any of the equipment amassed over the player’s campaign.
This is a different experience from many quests inStarfield, and for many players, it’s well worth its 500 Creation Credit price. And like all Bethesda Game Studios Creations, it’s full achievement-compatible too.
1Trackers Alliance: The Vulture
Be A Space Bounty Hunter for Real This Time
ManyStarfieldfans thought that the Trackers Alliance was a wasted faction, and wanted the opportunity to fully roleplay being a space bounty hunter complete with quests and a HQ. The Trackers Alliance: The Vulture Creation by Bethesda Game Studios adds that to the game, with a surprisingly fun quest complete with a great reward -a powerful weapon.
At 1000 Creation Credits this quest is kind of steep, but it offers much more interactive content than the Ancient Mariner Module which is the same price, and for many fans, it’s well worth it for more official Bethesda content. Like all official Creations, the Trackers Alliance: The Vulture Creation is achievement-friendly.
