AStardew Valleyplayer’s bizarre farm build has led to the sharing of a method of watering the entire farm for the entire season easily. WhileStardew Valleyplayers will need to complete some prerequisites in order to access ths method, it could be well worth it for some.
Stardew Valleyinitially tasks players with watering every crop on their farm by hand. As time progresses and the player invests in upgrades, it becomes easier, with upgraded watering cans covering more ground inStardew Valleyand sprinklersautomatically watering nearby tiles. However, this method doesn’t require maintenance once in place and doesn’t take up space that would ordinarily be occupied by sprinklers.
Reddit User Shares Impressive Farm and Watering Techniques
Over on Reddit,Stardew Valleyplayer ddearco shared an impressive but bizarre farm layout, which essentially packs almost every square tile available with crops. Fans wondered how long it would take to water them all, speculating that visits to the spa or a lot of energy boosters would be necessary to even get through it all. However, the player behind the build and some others revealed that the easy way to manage the entire farm’s watering is through the use ofDeluxe Retaining Soiland aRain Totem.
Using this Stardew Valley Watering Technique
Deluxe Retaining Soilis extremely useful to any farmer, as once it’s been put on a crop tile and watered, it will hold that water for the remainder of the season or until the crop is ready for harvesting, whichever comes first. A rain totem, on the other hand, guarantees that the following day inStardew Valleywill have rainy weather. If timed correctly, this means that players can set down their Deluxe Retaining Soil during the rainy weather, which will automatically wet the soil and be held in, with no manual watering required. This could free up a ton of time for a farmer, and makes it easier to plan a layout, as one no longer has to determine the correct placement for sprinklers.
With that said, there are some prerequisites to pulling this off. The Deluxe Retaining Soil recipe needs to be purchased from theIsland Trader on Ginger Island, and then needs to be crafted by the farmer. Thankfully, the recipe doesn’t need any hugely rare items, though players will want a decent supply of stone, fiber, and clay before trying this. The rain totem itself can be crafted with level 9 foraging, with some totems occasionally dropping from the Skull Cavern. While this method isn’t ideal for brand new players, those who have played a while and want to spend more time off the farm may want to give it a try.
