Star Wars Outlaws’ Lando-centric “Wild Card” DLC expansion finally has a release date, and some additional free content is also on the way for players. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment releasedStar Wars Outlawsin late August 2024, giving fans the chance to explore the criminal underbelly of the Outer Rim as aspiring scoundrel Kay Vess and her expanding crew of rogues.Star Wars Outlawsearned mostly positive reviews upon release, though Ubisoft recently announced that it hasn’t quite reached the publisher’s sales expectations.
Nonetheless, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are still planning to expand the already vast world ofStar Wars Outlawswith story-based DLC. The first of this new content was a side mission involving Kay’s droid partner ND-5 trying to clear a debt withTatooine’s infamous gangster Jabba the Hutt, but this drew controversy for being locked behind the game’s Season Pass on day one. At least two other DLC expansions are confirmed forStar Wars Outlaws, titled “Wild Card” and “A Pirate’s Fortune.”
The former now has an official release date, as announced by Ubisoft this week (viaVGC).Star Wars Outlaw’s “Wild Card” DLC expansion will launch on November 21 and will see Kay cross paths with thelegendary scoundrel Lando Calrissianto infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament. In addition to this new story quest, Ubisoft confirmed that there will be free content for allStar Wars Outlawsplayers released on this date in the form of new Contract missions.
Star Wars Outlaws Wild Card DLC Release Date
Just like the previously-mentioned Jabba, Lando actually appears in the baseStar Wars Outlaws, albeit asan Expert who can grant Kay new abilitiesby completing a specific sidequest and fulfilling certain abilities. She first meets the renowned gambler on Akiva, and helping him retrieve his lucky Sabacc token unlocks a new tree of card game and stealth-based skills. Story-wise,Star Wars Outlawstakes place between Lando’s regretful betrayal of Han Solo inThe Empire Strikes Backand his assistance in rescuing his friend from Jabba at the beginning ofReturn of the Jedi.
Players will get to see more of Lando Calrissian in action on November 21 when theStar Wars Outlaws“Wild Card” DLC launches. Incidentally, November 21 is also the day thatStar Wars Outlawsis released on Steam, something that Ubisoft hopes will bolster the game’s troubling sales figures. Not much is currently known about the secondStar Wars OutlawsDLC pack titled “A Pirate’s Fortune,” save that it will feature the fan-favorite pirate captain Hondo Ohnaka and will launch sometime in the spring of 2025.
