They got to watch Rey as she fought back against the First Order, witnessed the rise of iconic heroes in projects such asSolo: A Star Wars Story, got to experience what it was like living as a soldier within this world throughStar Wars Battlefront, and even witnessed the adventures ofa brand-new Jedi inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. And now, they have been whisked away on an adventure through the criminal underworld withStar Wars Outlaws.
Star Wars Outlawsis unlike any modernStar Warsgame so far, as it ditches the Force in favor of a smuggler adventure. That being said, it does seem to share some similarities with the classicStar Wars: Bounty Hunter. Even if it is not exploring the life of a fan-favorite film character, it does let players see into the world of the syndicates through a different lens. Because of its success, it might be time forStar Warsto take theBounty Hunterbrand for a spin again.

Star Wars Outlaws Showed Players a Different Side of the Galaxy
Up until now, modernStar Warsgames seemed to want to either explorethe Jedi versus Sith conflictor let players experience war across the galaxy. BothStar Wars Jedigames explored Jedi Cal Kestis as he fought back against the Empire, theStar Wars Battlefrontgames let players experience the massive wars that have defined the franchise, andStar Wars Squadronsput them in the pilot’s seat. All of those adventures proved to be a lot of fun, but it was time for a change, which is exactly whatStar Wars Outlawshas provided.
Star Wars Outlawshas not only delivered the first true open-world adventure, but it has also plunged players into the world of criminal syndicates. Instead of fighting torid theStar Warsgalaxy of the Empire, Kay Vess is simply trying to make ends meet in a galaxy out to get her. To do this, she must work alongside the biggest syndicates around, which makes for a very different type of story. The type of story that many fans have been longing for, so hopefully, this is not the last time they see it.
It is Time for a Studio To Give Fans the Star Wars Bounty Hunter Experience
Now that players have gotten to see the Jedi, the soldier, and the smuggler lifestyle, it is time for them to experience a modern take on being a bounty hunter. Specifically, it feels likethe perfect time forStar Wars: Bounty Hunterto make its grand return. That game captured the earliest days of Jango Fett as he rose to infamy, and through that, fans also got to see the underbelly of the galaxy, which made for a different type of adventure. Now thatStar Wars Outlawshas set a precedent for a modern version of those types of stories, it is time for a studio to capitalize on the concept again.
While it would be interesting toexplore Jango Fett or Boba Fettfurther, this nextBounty Huntergame should follow in the footsteps ofStar Wars JediandStar Wars Outlawsinstead. It could give players control over a brand-new bounty hunter trying to make their mark on the galaxy and let them explore the massive galaxy seeking out their targets. Ideally, it would also feature a bunch of exciting gadgets, a jetpack, a unique ship, and even a droid companion to make it a true bounty hunter simulator. As long as it hits all the rightStar Warsnotes, fans would be in for a treat.
Now that players have gotten a criminal-based game, it will be interesting to see just whereStar Warsgoes from here. It certainly seems feasible thatOutlawswill open the door to games about seedy characters like bounty hunters. If LucasArts can make a fun one back in 2002, there is no telling what a studio could do with the concept now.
