It’s right in this abandoned spot that you come across the Nightcrawler Worm—a giant sand monster—and also get a chance to loot four valuable pieces of treasure. The rewards from the treasure chests are random and vary from player to player.
Treasure #1: Mine Storage
Location: Above the Landing Pad
From Mos Algo’s landing pad, look to your left to spot a climbable wall marked by white and yellow stains. Climbing this wall will take you to the abandoned mine storage, where the first treasure chest is hidden.
Once you’re in the area, press up on the D-pad to locate the chest using Nix’s senses.
Treasure #2: Abandoned Mine Cart
Location: Hidden Pathway Past the Landing Pad
A few feet past the landing pad, you’ll notice a narrow path leading to a mine entrance. (Look to your left; the path is just near the first couple of houses in the mining settlement.) Follow this path until you reach a mine cart covered in debris.Blast the rocks blocking the way, then loot the chest inside the outcropping to find the second Mos Algo treasure.
Treasure #3: The Watchtower
In front of Mos Algo’s landing pad, you’ll find a grappling hook spot. Use it to reach the top of the hill, then climb the walls to the watchtower. The third treasure chest is located at the end of this lookout post. You can jump down using the nearby grappling hook next to the chest.
This treasure chest is located just a few feet outside the abandoned city.

How to Find the Smuggler Cache 13 in Mos Algo
A few miles from the landing pad, just outside the mining settlement of Mos Algo, there’s a path leading to one of the blocked mine entrances. You’ll recognize it by the constant mist that gives it a stormy appearance. Follow this path down until you reachSmuggler Cache13, hidden behind some broken mine carts.
