Summary
Star Warshas some of the most famous quotes in all of the movies. “May The Force be with you” is so famous that it even became a holiday on May 4th. It’s a pun but it works forStar Warsfans everywhere and Disney is certainly making bank on the occasion.
Star Wars Outlawshas some big shoes to fill in the franchise but it does a decent job in the quotes department. It helps that there are a lot of fun characters that play off of each other well. These quotes stick out the most and they do spoil some things. Let’s get that spoiler warning ready and get to the funny, menacing, and just plain-odd quotes fromStar Wars Outlaws.
8“I’m Starving, And It’s Time To Eat”
Sliro Barsha
This is one of the opening lines of the game said by the main villain, Sliro Barsha. He runs a new Faction called Zerek Besh which is why he brought the other four mainFactions together inStar Wars Outlaws. It’s all a ruse to get to know each other and to form a truce. Sliro talks about how he came from scraps and no longer wants to live life that way. He is hungry and wants everything for himself and his new order which is when his men start executing the ambassadors from the other Factions ruthlessly. This comes back again toward the end when Sliro and his brother, Jaylen Vrax, argue about their heritage over a food analogy.
7“Kay! It’s A Good Thing I Turned Those Guns Off.”
Waka
Waka is an engineer that players will meet when they crash land on Toshara. He’s the one who fixes up Kay’s ship and accompanies her on several missions like False Flag which is a main quest. As they approach an Imperial space station, Waka warns Kay not to do anything funny like fire any weapons at the Imperials. If players try to fire with any of the buttons, Waka will make this comment about turning off the weapons just in case. It’s afun little Easter Eggthat not every player will stumble across inStar Wars Outlawsand it is an overall commentary on video games that allow players false choices.
6“They Call It Creative Punishment.”
Bosnok
This is another quote that can be heard from the False Flag mission but it is said by Bosnok and not Waka. Bosnok is a head in a jar that the Imperials imprisoned to watch over their data. Kay is perplexed at this but it seems like Bosnok is a little amused when he replies to her confusion.
Bosnok is one of the strangerside characters inStar Wars Outlawsbesides his head resting in a jar like he is from Futurama. It’s the way he speaks like referring to Kay constantly as an intruder even though she is trying to help him out during the mission.
5“Run.”
ND-5
One of the coolest missions in the game has players explore an old, overgrown ship in the jungles of Toshara. Inside Kay is double-crossed by Waka but not before he is shot in the back by Vail Tormin, a bounty hunter that Sliro hired to find Kay. When it looks like Kay is cornered, a door opens up behind her, and out comesa large droidnamed ND-5. All he says to Kay is “Run” which she does in a heartbeat. This idea of saying “Run” to Kay comes back in the final mission of the game when ND-5 sort of takes on a more Terminator role and goes after Kay involuntarily.
4“I’m Not Into Politics, Or Taking Down Queens, And I Definitely Don’t Like People Spying On Me.”
Kay Vess
Kay is an outlaw but she plays by her own rules and doesn’t revel in getting one over on the little guy. As the game goes on, the theme becomes clear that everyone is using everyone in the galaxy and that includes the Rebel Alliance. Kay just wants to be free and not have a boot over her at all times. This scene happens when Krisk and Lady Qi’Ra are plotting the demise of Queen Ashiga, the head of the Ashiga Clan. Kay is staunchly opposed to getting into political upheavals and players have to choose in the end to save Queen Ashiga or to let Krisk take her place to rule the Ashiga Clan as a puppet of Lady Qi’Ra and Crimson Dawn.
3“He Took My Eye, But He Took Everything Else.”
Surat Nuat
Surat Nuat is basically the underworld leader of Akiva but he does not belong to a general Faction. If someone wants something done, they have to go through him. Players will come across Surat if they pursue the main quest to get Gedeek Obaz, one of the heist members for the final mission.
In their meeting, Kay sees a person frozen in carbonite being used as a table. Upon prying, Surat reveals it is his brother. This line is so vicious that Surat comes across as a truly unhinged criminal and this game is filled with them from oldies likeJabba the Huttto newbies like Sliro.
2“Then I Suggest You Find Some Rebels.”
Darth Vader
There are some surprising cameos in the game andDarth Vaderhas to take the cake. He appears in the second to last mission wherein Kay spies on Sliro meeting him through a ventilation grate. Sliro is talking about a master plan to unearth the rebels but Darth Vader is losing patience. He breaks every glass pane in the room, points the pieces at Sliro, and warns him to find the rebels or else. It’s a rather badass scene although frightening as well as it demonstrates Darth Vader’s power. Besides one more appearance via a hologram, this is the only time Darth Vader appears in person in the game.
Gedeek Obaz
After the heist is a bust, the actual final mission in the game finds Kay going back into the Imperial space station to rescue ND-5. While they had their differences at first, Kay grew to care and respect ND-5 and the feeling seems to be mutual with Kay. Their plan is for Ank to plant explosives around the station while Kay parades Gedeek around as she is dressedlike a Stormtrooper. The plan is rather haphazard as Gedeek tries to explain to Kay but she hears nothing of it. She is determined beyond belief to free ND-5 even if she gets blasted into smithereens which is when Gedeek makes this rather dry joke about the plan being foolproof.
