Fans were preparing for what is believed to beSplatoon 3’s final Splatfest, aptly called the Grand Festival. Not only were players given the opportunity to participate in one ofSplatoon 3’s biggest Salmon Run events of all time, but all three idol groups from past games - the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, and Deep Cut - were all participating in the Splatfest, representing the three different teams: Squid Sisters for Team Past, Off the Hook for Team Present, and Deep Cut for Team Future. The Grand Festival Splatfest ran from September 12-15, a much longer Splatfest than prior ones. The results have all been tallied, and the winners have been announced.
The results were revealed both in-game and on the officialSplatoonTwitter account, revealing that Team Past won the whole thing. Breaking it down, Team Present had won the Sneak Peek results with 33.93% over Team Past’s 33.42%, earning 90 points for the former and 45 points for the latter. Team Present won the majority vote (57.36%), giving it 70 points. The total clout, however, was where things shifted immediately, as Team Past ended up getting the most in the Open, Pro, and Tricolor Battle modes. The video also does a completeretrospective ofSplatoon 3’s past Splatfest themesand results, making it a very nostalgic trip for those who have been playing the game for the past two years.
With the conclusion of the Grand Festival Splatfest, it’s likely its results will influence thesetting ofSplatoon 4in some way, as bothSplatoon 2and3helped determine the direction of their successors. Despite the Grand Festival being advertised as the “last” Splatfest and regular updates now being over, Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will be back with returning themes.
