Summary

Splatoon 3players can revisit the Grand Festival performances anytime, but there’s a catch. Even so, players will likely be glad to know that there’s a way to revisit theSplatoon 3performances of the three main idol groups of the series.

In honor of the final original Splatest forSplatoon 3, the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, and Deep Cut, the idol groups from the first to third game respectively, put on a big show for participants. Unlike the usual Splatfests where a performance is held in the mainInkopolisor Splatsville hub, this one relocated to a special venue with a three stage rotating show featuring all three groups. It was something players had never seen before, making it rather disappointing for it to disappear just as quickly as it emerged.

Thankfully, there’s a way to revisit these performances, but players need specific Amiibo to do it. To be exact, players need to own any of the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, or Deep Cut Amiibo to access the Grand Festival Splatfest. Using any of these, a user can simply scan the Amiibo intoSplatoon 3as they usually would. Previously, there were only options for photos and saving equipment sets, but now there’s a third option that allows players to “remember” the Grand Festival. Upon choosing it, the player will be given an option to visit any of the three days, with the idol groups all still performing, including the brandnewSplatoon 3song featuring all the idols.

Accessing the Grand Festival Splatfest

Once the player goes through this process, their Inkling or Octoling will appear back at the Grand Festival, and players can look around and watch the performances. Of course, playing on the Grand Festival stage itself in turf war battles is no longer possible, as that was exclusive to the Splatfest. However, this feature is likely welcomed by fans who own the Amiibo, and has never been done before. This feature is somewhat of a callback to the Squid Sister Amiibo and the first game, which let players watch the Squid SisterSplatfestperformances and some bonus songs any time after scanning one. This feature was absent in both follow-up games with their respective Amiibo releases.

What the future holds for theSplatoonseries at this point is unknown. With thewinners of the Grand Festival Splatfestbeing Team Past, the next game could move in a totally different direction from its predecessors. Players might get to learn more about the Great Turf War, or the developers could find inspiration in a “past” theme in a completely different way. For now, though, one of the game’s most memorable moments can be revisited.
