Themain campaignofSpace Marine 2follows Titus and doesn’t offer much deviation from him unless you play as his companions when playing multiplayer. During Operations and Eternal War, players can create their own Space Marines based on any of six classes.
Each class has access to various guns and gear, giving players a wide array of possible Space Marines to create. Players can change their class and loadout to some degree during Operations and Eternal War, here’s how to do both.
How To Change Your Class & Loadout In Operations
In Operations, yourclass is determined before a mission starts, and you’ll need to finish the mission or quit before you may change classes. Whenswitching game modes to Operations, you’ll be able to choose which class you want, but you canchange it while on the Barge at the Armouring Hall. This location can be fast-traveled to or walked to by turning around from the Thunderhawk platform and taking the path to the left.
In the Armoruring Hall, whichever class you currently have selected when closing out of the menuwill be your currently equipped class, and will stay that way until changed in the same menu. Here you can also change your loadout by selecting the class you wish to customize and selecting one of the three available loadouts along the top left menu. As you level up you’ll get access tomore gear to choose from, all of which can be changed in the loadout menu.
To change weapons, simply select the weapon slot you wish to change and scroll over to the new weapon you wish to equip. Hovering over the new weapon and closing out of the menu will select that weapon. Once an Operation begins, you’ll stay as that class with the last selected loadout equipped.
How To Change Your Class & Loadout In Eternal War (PVP)
Unlike Operations, your class aboard the Battle Barge does not matter for Eternal War. Head to the Armouring Hall where you can change out the weapons for each loadout for any class, just like in Operations. The difference in Eternal War is that yourclass and loadout are determined at the start of the game. You can choose any of the six classes than between any of your three loadouts before spawning into the battle.
To change your class or loadout in Eternal War, you’ll need togo to the pause menu and select, “Change Class”. This will immediately change your class and loadout on your next spawn. Respawning will bring you back to your previous class and loadout continuously until you choose to change anything.
In Eternal War, each side can only have two of each class on a team, leading to some limitations on class choice if you can’t get to your top pick first.
