Summary
ASkyrimplayer has accidentally sniped a rabbit while hunting a different one in a moment dubbed the “shot of a lifetime.” ManySkyrimarchers have hit incredible shots on their enemies, but this may be one of the most surprising one to occur while hunting.
SinceSkyrimwas released, many players have shared incredible kills that they achieved. This includesaSkyrimCrossbow userwho hit an absurd cross-map shot, a killcam showing an enemy flipping after an arrow hits them, and a one-shot Ebony Warrior kill on Legendary difficulty. Rabbits are among the unluckiest animals in the game given their small health pool. Some players have inadvertently killed rabbits when trying to shoot their arrows at Dragons, Trolls, and bears. One talented archer has nailed the “shot of a lifetime” after an unexpected moment while hunting rabbits along a river.
Reddit user Crispo14 recently shared a clip highlighting their experience hunting along the banks of one of the rivers inSkyrim’s massive open world. The video begins with the player notching a Steel Arrow while aiming at a nearby rabbit that’s running away from them in an attempt to survive. The gamer tracks the rabbit’s movements and releases the arrow, only to miss the creature by a few inches. The player then notches and quickly releases a second arrow which triggers a killcam. The Steel Arrow soars through the sky, passing the nearby rabbit, and flies across the river to hit an unsuspecting rabbit in its hind leg. This surprise arrow shot is an instant kill.
This Skyrim Archer May Have Hit the ‘Shot of a Lifetime’
Rabbit That Was Hit Disappeared, Never to be Seen Again
As the player had aSkyrimElven Bow, they may have just been using the rabbit for target practice. Given that the Elven Bow has a base damage of 13, it can be used to hunt many animals throughout the open world. Sneaking will also significantly increase the damage, making it a useful weapon in many stealth archer scenarios. Crispo14 has confirmed that the rabbit they were initially targeting was never found after the killcam, making them wonder where it ended up. Most of the responses to this rabbit kill reference the infamousarrow to the knee memeinspired by city guards who often repeat their dialogue. As the rabbit took this arrow to the knee, some fans have fittingly adjusted the meme to reference the slain animal.
Despite offering minimal experience, this rabbit kill may contribute to a future increase to theirSkyrimArcherylevel. With the rabbit still having a Steel Arrow sticking out of it at the end of the clip, it may have been included in the loot pool. Given that rabbits don’t offer much otherwise, this may be the only thing available on the corpse.
