The former showed off more gameplay fromSonic X Shadow Generationsalongside upcoming projects like aSonic/Justice League crossoverthat reimagines Sega’s mascots as DC’s greatest heroes, including Shadow as Batman. The State of Play confirmed thatSonic X Shadow Generationsplayers who buy the Digital Deluxe edition will be able to play as Keanu Reeves’s version of Shadow.
In addition to the aforementionedSonic X Shadow Generationsand DC crossover, new content has been announced for a wide variety of existingSonicgames. This includes theupcoming party titleSonic Rumble, which will launch this winter and allow up to 32 players to race to collect rings and unlock cosmetic collectibles. Speaking of cosmetics,Sonic Dash,Sonic Dash+, and the mobile version ofSonic Forcesare all getting new characters. The electrically-charged Viking Surge was added yesterday, while Oni Mephiles, Warrior Shadow, and Dulce Amy are coming later this year.
Sonic Central Reveals Additional Game Content and New Projects
Last year’sSonic Dream Teamwill also be adding Shadow as a playable character.Sonic Racingrecently added a new Time Trial mode alongside two new playable character styles: Rockstar Rouge and DJ Vector. A third style, Popstar Amy, will be introduced later this year. The Year of Shadow keeps on giving inSuper Monkey Ball Banana Rumble, with a new Shadow the Hedgehog costume now available to purchase as part of the Sega Costume Pack.
The upcomingTwo-Point Museumwill have a limited-time Sonic and Shadow-themed pre-order incentive ahead of its launch on March 4, featuring special gift shop items, outfits, interactive displays, and decorations. Finally,Sonic Speed SimulatorinRobloxis adding a new boss encounter against Neo Metal Sonic fromSonic Heroes, though this time, the evil robot doppelganger comes with a charge-up form that requires Super Sonic to defeat.
Games weren’t the only thing shown off during the recent Sonic Central showcase, which also featured several upcoming toys and collectibles, like two Shadow-centricSonic the HedgehogLEGO setsand a customizable Shadow figure from JAKKS Pacific.
