Summary
AnElden Ringplayer has come up with a unique trick to defeat Runebears, luring them into the path of the Walking Mausoleums to kill them without having to fight at all. Runebears have been one of the most difficult overworld enemies inElden Ring, and fans have expressed their frustration over their damage and hard-to-dodge moveset time and again.
Soulsborne games always have some overworld enemies that end up being a nightmare for fans.Bloodbornehad the annoying Night Lanterns, and the dog enemies are infamous in almost every Soulsborne game. InElden Ring, the Runebear and Giant Crayfish are some of the enemies that fans have had a tough time with, with theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC also adding the terrifying Untouchables.
In a new post on theElden Ringsubreddit, one player highlights a brilliant way to defeat Runebears. They start off by luring the Runebear towards the water, tactfully dodging its attacks and ensuring that they don’t tread too far away from its vicinity. After a while, they lure it into the path of one ofElden Ring’s Walking Mausoleums, which ends up killing it instantly, dealing a whopping 24,050 damage, which is far greater than the HP of the Runebear. For the record, this particular Runebear has 10,663 HP.
Elden Ring Fans Discover New Rune Bonus Mechanic
The user ended up getting 4,364 runes for it, which left many in the community surprised as they technically should have gotten 3,636 runes. However, the original poster highlights that due to the massive damage dealt by the Walking Mausoleum, the kill counts qualify for an overkill bonus. Apparently, if players deal damage over 150% of the target’s health, they get 20% more runes. Many fans noted that they had been playing the game for several thousand hours and never knew that this mechanic existed. One fairly well-known rune bonus is the one obtained by defeatingenemies with golden eyes inElden Ring, but that is totally random and something the players have no control over.
The post has also sparked a new debate in the community, with many players wondering whether the community is now less intimidated by enemies such as the Runebear after encountering significantly moredifficult enemies in theShadow of the ErdtreeDLC. However, some believe that it can also be attributed to the players getting better at the game. Whatever the case is, this is definitely a neat trick to take down one of the most frustrating enemies inElden Ring.
