Satisfactoryis a game filled to the brim with automation and resource management. But it doesn’t just throw everything in the player’s face. Instead, it slowly introduces new elementsthrough milestone rewards, which players need to unlock with the previously unlocked materials.
However, there is an alternate progression route within the game that players can access through theMolecular Analysis Machine, also known as the MAM. When players interact with this building, they can input unknown materials for analysis, getting rewards as a result. Some of these rewards can be unlocked normally through the milestones, while others,like the Blade Runners, are exclusive to the MAM.
How to Unlock And Build the Molecular Analysis Machine
The Molecular Analysis Machine is one of the first unlockable items in the game. It becomes craftable when players unlock Field Research, a Tier 1 Milestone. This milestone costsx300 Wire, x300 Screw, andx100 Iron Plate. To craft this building, enter the build menu using your build gun, and select the MAM building, located in theSpecial tab.Align it according to your liking and place it anywhere where the terrain is somewhat level.
The MAM doesn’t needan energy source, and can be used in any location. Unlike the hub, which can have one instance at a time,multiple MAM buildings can be built without any problems.However, all these buildings share the same database, meaning you can’t research multiple technologies at the same time. All the MAM buildings will work on the same backend framework. The good thing about this is that if players carry the required materials (x5 Reinforced Iron Plate, x15 Cable, x45 Wire), they can craft a MAManywhere in the worldand use it to upload newly found materials at the spot without needing to wait to get back to their base.
There are a total of8 tech treesin MAM. All of these will be hidden until the player finds an initial resource that will jump start the research process, revealing the name of the material’s associated tech tree, and the required cost for the research.
