Summary
A reliable source in theGenshin Impactcommunity delivers an exciting overview of Mavuika’s ability kit, as the Pyro Archon prepares for her playable debut in Version 5.3. WhileGenshin Impacthas had its fair share of popular characters, it could be argued that the Archons are on a tier of their own. An Archon of Teyvat is viewed as both a personification of their nation, and as the poster character of their region. The latter is especially true for Furina, who has relinquished her divine authority to Neuvillette.
As opposed to theplayable Harbingers inGenshin Impact, Archons tend to have an ability kit that prioritizes Support. Zhongli is famous for his Elemental Shield, whereas Raiden solves Energy Recharge issues for a significant number of teams. However, there are two reasons whyGenshin Impactplayers are especially excited about Mavuika – the reasons being Bennett and Xiangling, two Pyro 4-Stars that have been a mainstay in the meta since launch.
There is an expectation that Mavuika will fulfill a niche that only Bennett and Xiangling have been able to provide, andaccording to FouL, the latter will at least be true. Mavuika’s ability kit could best be described as a combination of Raiden andYelan inGenshin Impact. Her Elemental Skill applies a buff to the active character that delivers follow-up Pyro attacks for a set duration, or alternatively, infuses Mavuika’s own attacks into Pyro when held. On the other hand, her Elemental Burst generates a coordinated Pyro attack at a two-second interval.
How Mavuika’s Ability Kit Could Shake Up the Meta in Genshin Impact
It should be noted that Mavuika has one big advantage over other Pyro off-field characters. Namely, the ability to useNatlan’s Artifact Sets inGenshin Impact. While there will be cases where Xiangling and Bennett are preferred options, Mavuika should be an obvious upgrade for characters such as Clorinde – assuming this ability kit makes its way to the beta. In terms of her on-field potential, Mavuika’s Pyro infusion should make her a viable hypercarry at C0, if paired with Xianyun. As for her mobility in the open world, Mavuika will be able to ride a Phlogiston motorcycle up the mountain, across water, or on flat terrain.
Ultimately, her ability kit does not have any overlap with Bennett, as the Pyro infusion in her Elemental Skill is tied to Mavuika alone. As such,Genshin Impactplayers may need to wait for another Pyro 5-Star to come along and dethrone the boy from Mare Jivari. A potential option remains Xbalanque, whose status as a playable character still remains a point of contention.Mavuika is expected to debut inGenshin Impactduring the first half of Version 5.3, which is expected to launch on July 05, 2025.
