TheDays Goneremaster rumors started afterVGC’s Jordan Middler respondedto Jeff Grubb’s claim that Sony had a PS5 remaster in the works that waseven less excitingthan the rumoredHorizon Zero Dawn. In a tweet, Middler suggested thatDays Gonewas the remaster in question, suggesting that the game’s director would “lose his mind” at the announcement, considering the negative reaction he had to the game’s protagonist being represented inAstro Bot.

Astro Botfeatures well over 100 cameo bots for PlayStation fans to find, with the characters pulled from various gaming franchises. While there are plenty of obscureAstro Botbots, there are also plenty from big budget games,Days Gone’s Deacon St. John included.Days Gonedirector John Garvin didn’t appreciate the Deacon St. John cameo, throwing shade atAstro Botand dismissing the critically-acclaimed 3D platformer as a “small game” in the process. Considering this, it will be interesting to see what Garvin thinks about the remaster, assuming it even exists, of course.

Luckily, fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to learn if theDays GonePS5 remaster is real or not. Both it and theHorizon Zero DawnPS5 remasterare rumored to be revealed at a new PlayStation State of Play event, believed to be taking place as early as next week to coincide with the 2024 Tokyo Game Show. If the State of Play happens and theDays GonePS5 remaster is real, it will definitely be interesting to see what exactly it’s bringing to the table.
