In a new interview withIGN, Respawn Entertainment founder and Vice President of EA Vince Zampella confirmed that thenextBattlefieldgame will feature a modern setting, similar to that ofBattlefield 3andBattlefield 4. According to Henderson, sources close to the project have revealed that the first-person shooter will take place somewhere between 2027 and 2030, which aligns with Zampella’s confirmation that the nextBattlefieldwill take place in a more modern setting. It’s also claimed that there will be 45 different weapons available at launch, which is double that of its predecessor,Battlefield 2042. This means that the level of destruction caused to the environment will be dependent on the caliber of ammunition being used by the player.
