InRemnant 2’sThe Dark Horizon DLC, players will have plenty of new enemies to beat andloot to discover while they exploreNer’ud in a new one-shot adventure. Of course, that means there are plenty of secrets to uncover, like the Hidden Boss Astral Harvester, which can be quite a pain to find.
First, players need to get used to a new traversal mechanic: the Gliders. These cute and helpful drones will be available throughout the maps ofThe Dark Horizonand will help players cross the chasms filled with toxic boiling goo. So, let’s take a look at how to find the right path to the Astral Harvester Hidden Boss.
Where To Find The Astral Harvester
The Astral Harvester is tucked away in one of the ledgesnear the chasm of the Agronomy Sector, the first area where the players arrive when they start theDark HorizonDLC. To find it, players need to reach the second checkpoint and talk to the friendly Prospector Drone.
Due to the procedural generation ofthe scenarios in the DLC, the Second Checkpoint might differ a little from what is displayed in the video. Players should be on the lookout for aplatform facing three air streamspopping out of the chasm, then face in the direction of a crack in the wall.
Players can use the Crouch Button to descend while Gliding with the Drones. That way, they can prevent getting stuck while trying to cross archways or entering hidden platforms.
The opening in one of the walls of the chasm will have a characteristicpurplish glow, with stalactite-like edges on the arch, so it shouldn’t be too hard to spot the right place. There’s a chance that the Drone platform isn’t directly aiming in the direction where the grotto is, so players will have to maneuver the Glider drones while trying to aim in the right direction at the same time.
Watch out for enemies, especiallyBattle DronesandFour-Arm Minions, which can use a Snipe-like ability to make players fall from the Glider if they’re not careful.
Once players are aiming at the right place, they need to glide down, using the first air stream, then enter the grotto, propel upward with thesecond air stream, and finally reach thethird and final air stream. Which will let them land on the platform where theAstral Harvesterlies waiting.
How To Beat The Astral Harvester Hidden Boss
Once the players land on the platform, the Astral Harvester will attack. Like other Harvester enemies, it has a series of attacks that are best to avoid. First, it will target the player andjump on them. This attack is noticeable since the robot crouches and prepares to leap before jumping and crushing the player.
At close distance, the Harvester will release astream of toxic gasthatcauses Corrosion, so it’s better to stay clear of it. Next, it will attempt to push the player off of the ledge, so if they cannot avoid the first attack, it will probably make them fall to their deaths.
The best strategy to beat it is toequip a high mobility Archetype, like the Archon with Havoc Form, or the Invader with the Worm Hole ability. Players want to avoid being pushed down the ledge at any cost, so teleport or move away and fight it facing the ledge from the opposite side to the landing zone.
The Archon Archetype is especially strong in dealing Shock damage and recovering Mod energy fast. Consider equipping it with Havoc Form to avoid the Astral Haverster’s initial assault and cause loads of damage after dodging it.
Once players get a clear target of the Astral Harvester, they shouldtarget the canisters on the sides, since those are itsweak spots.Another good strategy is to carry weapons withmods that can cause Shock, since all robot enemies are vulnerable to it.
Once the Harvester Drops to half health, it will start attacking more aggressively, jumping faster and more often. This means it will also close the gap and use a push attack, and players who do not mind their surroundings are at risk of falling into the chasm and dying. Keep dodging and blasting its weak spot until it falls. Then, it will be time to reap the rewards.
Boss Drops & Harvester Scythe Location (New Melee Weapon)
Once players defeat the Astral Harvester, they’ll receive theStatus Damagepurple Shard (that will come in handyto boost the new Prism system) and theDetonator Mutator.Equiping Detonator in a ranged weapon causes a triggered explosion around the target every time players spend 10% of the magazine. This effect can be improved when leveling up the Detonator, causing even more explosive damage. This Mutator pairs up nicely with theDetonating Cord, one of the new rings available with the DLC that improves explosive damage from all sources.
From there, players should look to the opposite side of the chasm for the door that should now be open. Once they enter the room, they’ll notice a characteristic purple shine on a corpse that is crouched against the wall. Upon approaching it and grabbing it, they’ll receive theHarvester Scythe melee weapon, but aSpecter will pop upand immediately attack, so players need to dodge its initial strike and quickly take it down before this Elite can use its Soul Grabbing ability, which results in instant death.
The Harvester Scythe is a cool weapon that has thePhantom Blade Trait: Charged Melee Attacks release a Phantom that trails behind the host weapon, dealing 35% of the Harvester Scythe’s damage. Each hit of the Phantom Blade increases Melee Attack Speed and Melee Charge Speed by 6 % for 5 seconds (max 5 stacks).
Since players will be fighting the Specter in a tight place, it can be very helpful to lure it back to the ledge where they fought the Astral Harvester. If they keep going forward into the orange light, they’ll reach another area patrolled byanother Elite Harvester(not a boss though), so they should avoid being sandwiched by the two Elite enemies. That’s whythe best option is to backtrackand fight on the ledge.
