How To Beat The N’Erudian Reaper In Remnant 2

While tips and tricks to beat the N’Erudian Reaper depend somewhat on your chosen class, there are some general strategies to consider when dealing with the N’Erudian Reaper’s various attacks. It’s also a boss fight that gets more intense and chaotic as the N’Erudian Reaper’s health diminishes. For our encounter, we played as a Hunter-Engineeer build and played to its strengths of long-shot distance accuracy and power.

Make The Most Of Support

Many ofRemnant 2’s Archetypesoffer some form of support, like the automated turret for the Engineer. It’s best to make the most of these bydeploying support gadgetsinto the fight early to start chipping away at the N’Erudian Reaper’s health early.

Charge, Ground Pound, And Drilling Attacks

The N’Erudian Reaper switches between close-range and long-distance projectile attacks. However, when it gets close, it means business by jumping into the air to pound the ground twice, or by charge-rushing towards you. Whichever attack pattern it chooses, you’ll want tosidestep or perform a dodge roll to avoid its charge and ground pound attacks. Of course, it may be better to useRemnant 2’s Misty Step Dodgeif you have it, which doesn’t consume stamina.

After pounding the ground, the N’Erudian Reaper can also follow up with an attack where it drills into the floor, so keeping a safe distance is also crucial for this alone. The fight can also soon get pretty chaotic with lots to dodge in the environment, as well as the boss itself, as seen in the video below:

Electric Webs

When you take some chunks from the N’Erudian Reaper’s health, it starts boxing you in withblue electric webs, which typically appear in a horizontal or vertical, square-like position. Avoid touching them at all costs to prevent additional damage andavoid getting stuck in the webs themselves, which slows your movements.

Projectile Orbs And Holographic Replication

When not slinging webs or attacking up close, the N’Erudian Reaper retreats to the edge of the room and either throwsdamaging projectile orbsor quickly appears in two or more places at once withself-replicating hologramsto attempt to confuse you. Move in between the projectiles to avoid taking damage and keep tabs on the Reaper’s quickly changing position. If youfocus on shooting it from a distancewith one ofRemnant 2’s long gunseven while it seems to be moving, it can still take damage if you shoot it fast enough, so it’s a test of fast, accurate shooting. Naturally, it takes the most damage (up to around 266) when shot in the head or main body rather than its legs, but any area you can hit will help.

To defeat the N’Erudian Reaper and win the fight, rinse and repeat the above strategies until its health is completely diminished. While there are a handful ofminor rewardsfor beating it, there is achest to openby the second entrance point to the arena. You also get aTrait Point, three Luminite Crystals, x500 Scrap, and aReplication Pod. You’ll probably be relieved that the Detritus Foundry exit is also just around the corner, with the exit marker appearing as soon as you finish the fight.
