Summary
Reacherseason 3 will air onPrime Videoin 2025, and it’ll potentially set up the Frances Neagley spin-off that has just been announced. Maria Sten has played Neagley in both seasons of the hit action series, and will reprise the role in the spin-off in addition to appearing in the upcoming season 3, which is based on Lee Child’s book,Persuader. The expansion of theReacheruniverse with theNeagleyspin-off is exciting for fans, and the upcoming season should set up more spin-offs,to capitalize on the popularity of the franchise.
There are manyReachercharacters who would be a good fit for their own shows. The nature of Jack Reacher’s nomadic lifestyle means that many popular characters won’t return for future seasons. However,it would be a great idea to set up supporting characters with their ownspin-off seriessimilar toNeagley’s. This would give these key characters the opportunity to be explored in more depth, as opposed to them making the odd guest star appearance, or not appearing at all.
Who Would Be Good Candidates For Reacher Spin-Offs?
Roscoe Coughlin
Roscoe Coughlin is a huge fan favorite, after Willa Fitzgerald portrayed the character inReacherseason 1. She was a local cop in the small town of Margrave, when Reacher turns up and uncovers a cesspool of corruption. The pair become romantically involved while investigating the case, but inevitably, Reacher leaves town once the case is solved, and leaves Roscoe behind.
Many fans wantedRoscoe to return in season 2, but the character didn’t play any part in Lee Child’s book,Bad Luck and Trouble, which the sophomore season was based on. A logistical part in the story couldn’t be found for her, butthat doesn’t rule out Roscoe’s return in a future season, and possibly her own series, where she could investigate crimes in Margrave or in a brand-new location.
Oscar Finlay
Season 1 also saw the introduction of another popular character, Chief Detective of Margrave PD, Oscar Finlay. He initially butted heads with Reacher, after the eponymous ex-military investigator was arrested on suspicion of murder. However, the pair ended up joining forces to solve the case, and when Reacher left town, they were on very good terms. Finlay revealed that his plan was to return to his roots in Boston and retire from police work.
Oscar Finlay turned up for a guest role inReacherseason 2, when Reacher needed help getting information from a Senator’s aide in Boston. Turns out, Finlay had re-joined the Boston PD as a detective and played a key part in moving the case forward. The pair parted ways again, with Finlay promising to always be on call to help if needed. It would be great to see Oscar Finlay again, and Malcolm Goodwin would be more than capable of carrying his own showas Finlay.
Karla Dixon
Reacher is known for his brief romances, andReacherseason 2 saw him finally act upon his feelings for fellow 110th Special Investigator,Karla Dixon. But, in typical Reacher fashion, the union didn’t last long, as he boarded a coach to his next location. Dixon was a bad-ass in season 2, as she joined forces with her former colleagues to defeatthe villain, Shane Langston.
Serinda Swan won’t be returning as Karla Dixon inReacherseason 3,and her character will be sorely missed. Dixon is a complex character who possesses an impressive array of action skills, and a spin-off based on her work in the private sector would be a hit with many fans.
David O’Donnell
David O’Donnellis the switchblade master in the 110th team. He is a brutal fighter, but has the brains to back it up.His only appearance in Lee Child’s book series isBad Luck and Trouble, and this makes his return in the future very unlikely. However, it would be sad if this was the last time fans saw O’Donnell, as he was an integral part of the resounding success of the second season.

Reacheris one of the most popular shows on Prime Video, and fans are eagerly awaiting the official air date for season 3. The universe is expanding with theNeagleyspin-off, but it might be a good idea to set up more spin-off series, especially withParamount’s TV changescoming into effect.Bosch: Legacyis finally expanding its universe withthe Renee Ballard series, over a decade after the originalBoschseries aired. However,Reacherhas revved up its universe building after only two seasons, and they should keep going with it, while the show is at the height of its popularity.
Roscoe Coughlin, Oscar Finlay and the ex-members of the 110th Special Investigators would all be great characters to follow in their own respective spin-offs. However,if they wait too long to set up these potential spin-offs, fans may lose interest.Lee Child didn’t feature these characters in many books in his series, but this didn’t stop him from crafting superb three-dimensional characters with fascinating backstories that provide a good basis for off-shoot storylines in theReachertelevision universe.TheNeagleyspin-offwill be great, but each one of these other supporting characters would be just as compelling in their own shows.
