Summary

Star Wars Outlawstakes place during the peak of scum and villainy within the largerStar Warscanon. It’s set in-between the fifth and sixth movie in the timeline after all of the bad stuff befalls the heroes inStar Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back.Luke Skywalker loseshis hand, Han Solo is frozen in carbonite, and overall it feels like the Galactic Empire has won.

This makes it easy for criminal organizations to move in while the chips are down which again, makes for a great setting inStar Wars Outlaws. It may be set around the movies but it manages to tell its own story featuring new characters like Kay Vess and her pet Nix. Will this be the only game players get to see Kay and Nix in? What about her companions? There are many questions left on the table, so let’s get to the biggest ones with spoilers on.

Kay in Star Wars Outlaws

6The Fate Of Kay Vess, Nix, And ND-5

Where Will They Go Next?

It seems like the whole game was building to Kay getting a team that would go beyond the scheduled heist that Jaylen Vrax set up. While Kay does meet friends, she only leaves with Nix and ND-5 by her side as the credits roll. What will their next mission be after this? Since Kay doesn’t die, it’s safe to assume she has been alive and well throughout the events ofStar Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedialong with the new trilogy.

Ubisoft may make a sequel which may spell the end for any of these characters. It’s also quite possible that one of the many shows, likeThe Mandalorian, may include Kay and her party in the mix as well. Video game characters have become canon before in live-actionStar Warsmedia, so there is a chance.

Gedeek in Star Wars Outlaws

5Where Did Ank And Gedeek Go?

Will They Ever Return To Kay?

Ank and Gedeek were two of Kay’s party members recruited for the game’s main heist. Ank is a bomb maker that she rescued from the Ashiga Clan on Kijimi while Gedeek was stuck working for The Empire on Akiva. Together, with Kay’s help, they were able to get back in the outlaws game forone incredible heist. They stared death in the face by defying The Empire and yet they still weren’t satisfied.

In their final meeting, they tell Kay they have a new job but Kay turns them down. It’s hard to know if this next job is significant, like if it is something for the Rebel Alliance. Either way, if there is aStar Wars Outlawssequel, Ank and Gedeek will probably return in some capacity.

Riko Vess in Star Wars Outlaws

4What Was Riko Vess Doing All This Time?

And Did She Escape The Empire?

Riko is Kay’s mother who abandoned her as a young girl. Bram Shano, one ofStar Wars Outlaws’ability Experts, helped raise Kay in Riko’s absence and taught her the ways of leading an underground life. It’s unknown what Riko was doing all this time or truly why she left. Riko gives an excuse on a hologram message that she left to avoid getting Kay hurt but whether that is the full truth or not is unknown.

What does come to light is the fact that the casino chip she left for Kay was actually a tracker. So, seemingly all this time Riko was keeping tabs on Kay. Another mystery is what happens to Riko in the end. Does she escape custody and will she go after Kay again?

A droid factory in Star Wars Outlaws

3Why Didn’t The Rebel Alliance Reactivate The Battle Droids?

They Could Have Gained The Upper Hand Earlier And Without Luke

One of the cooler indoor locations is tucked away under the port city on theStar Wars Outlawsplanet of Akiva. Temmin Wexley, another Expert, gives Kay access to a set of tunnels that leads her and her crew to an abandoned droid factory. They need an old part to fix ND-5 and along the way, they are confronted by the Rebel Alliance. It appears as though Temmin forgot to mention that they were also holed up in this abandoned droid factory.

While the factory was out of order, the Rebels could have rebuilt the base. There are tons of Battle Droids just waiting to be commissioned for duty again. It’s kind of weird that the Rebels didn’t use them as they could have certainly helped against the threat of The Empire.

Jaylen Vrax in Star Wars Outlaws

There Has To Be More To His Family Backstory Too

There are three big revelations when it comes to Jaylen and Sliro. First, Jaylen was going against Kay the entire time because he knew there was no money in the vault and instead was after data. This islike gangster movie101 as there is always a twist with the heist. This data belonged to Sliro, and with the blackmail accumulated, Jaylen could take over and get Sliro thrown out of The Empire.

Jaylen was Sliro’s brother all along and he wanted revenge for what Sliro did to the family. Another big revelation was that Sliro belonged to The Empire as a secret agent who made his own criminal organization as a ruse. For all of Jaylen’s planning, he made two confusing mistakes. Why did he let Kay live and store her in a storage space? Also, how did he not take care of Ank and Gedeek when he had the chance? These mistakes eventually led to his death.

Lady Qi’Ra in Star Wars Outlaws

1What Is The Canon Faction That Kay Sides With?

From The Ashiga Clan To The Pyke Syndicate

There are fourFactions inStar Wars Outlawsincluding Crimson Dawn, The Hutt Cartell, The Pyke Syndicate, and The Ashiga Clan. Siding with one Faction will net players reputation points. When they hit certain tiers, they can unlock bonuses like store credit with Faction shops and even armor.

If players max out a relationship with a Faction then there is an extra cutscene in the final space battle against The Empire. Kay will call in a favor and a Faction will help out if players have a good enough relationship with them. Lady Qi’Ra from Crimson Dawn, for example, can send in ships. Does Ubisoft have a canon Faction in mind that they want players to side with? Could that affect the sequel in any way?
