New PS5 Update Aims to Fix Graphical Bugs
On the officialTwitter account ofFinal Fantasy 16, Square Enix confirmed that the latest PlayStation 5 update was deployed to fix the graphical issues caused by its predecessor. The studio urged users to download and install the update to see the improvements, but then followed up by saying it would continue to investigate the issue with Sony, so there may still be some issues present even after the September 20 update.
AlongsideFinal Fantasy 16,Star Wars Outlawsalso reportedly saw a rise in graphical issues and crashes after the update. This marks the second major issue for the game on PS5 after Ubisoft promptedStar Wars Outlawsplayers to delete their saved datadue to a game-breaking bug. The studio did go on to offer free in-game rewards for users impacted by the issue, but fans were irked after having to restart their progress.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft has yet to acknowledge the issues and whether or not the latest firmware update rectifies them, but there are plenty ofFinal Fantasy 16playerspraising the patch already. Over on Twitter, users are reporting that there are no more graphical glitches or crashes since updating to the latest firmware version, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the issue has been solved for all players.
