The second numbered installment in Ubisoft’s motorsport series hit the market in June 2018. The Crew 2is also currently available via PS Plus Extra and Premium, having reached Sony’s subscription service back in April 2024. Anyone on the fence about parting with $1 in order to play it can also check out its free trial version, which offers several hours' worth of playing time. Progress fromThe Crew 2demo can be carried over to the full version of the game.

Although Ubisoft caught a lot of heat from fans over itsrecent decision to discontinue the firstThe Crewgame, this currently discounted sequel will likely avoid the same fate. As far as its multiplayer features are concerned, and if its predecessor’s support is any indication, it’s plausible thatThe Crew 2servers won’t shut down before the game is close to turning ten in 2028.

Even once that happens,The Crew 2will remain playable. That’s according to Ubisoft itself, who recently responded to the fan backlash overThe Crewdelisting by committing to bringing an offline mode toThe Crew 2andThe Crew Motorfest. The company said this feature will be implemented for the specific purpose of ensuring “long-term access” to the latest two entries in the motorsport series.
