Summary

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will have a new challenge in early October, as the fourth-generation starter Infernape will appear in Seven-Star Tera Raid dens. The arrival of Infernape as the nextPokemon Scarlet and VioletTera Raid boss will come just a few days following the departure of Serperior the Unrivaled.

Known as the Flame Pokemon, Infernape first appeared inPokemon Diamond and Pearlas the Sinnoh region’s Fire-type Starter. Infernape is the fully-evolved form of Chimchar and Monferno, and is usually classified as a Fire and Fighting dual-type Pokemon. With a highly versatile move roster, and high speed, physical attack and special attack statistics, Infernape is one of the more popular starters to come from the Sinnoh region. However, the Flame Pokemon’s intensity is offset by its low HP and defenses, and weaknesses to Water, Flying, and Ground attacks. InPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Infernape can be obtained bycatching a Chimchar in the Terarium’s Polar Biomeand evolving it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Infernape Seven-Star Tera Raids (October 2024)

Similar to previousPokemon Scarlet and VioletTera Raid bosses, Infernape the Unrivaled will come with its Hidden Ability, Iron Fist, which will boost the potency of punching attacks by 50%. Ergo, moves such as Mach Punch, Fire Punch, and Thunder Punch are likely to appear in the Flame Pokemon’s repertoire. In addition to its punches, Infernape the Unrivaled will use a Rock-type attack like Stone Edge or Rock Slide to take advantage of its Tera type, and may use moves like Taunt and Swords Dance to stymie its foes. AlthoughRock-type Pokemon are known for their sturdiness, Infernape’s nature as a glass cannon leaves it vulnerable to Water, Ground, and Fighting attacks.

Pokemon with strong defenses of their ownthat can also use moves like Body Press may be crucial in the battle against Infernape the Unrivaled. What strategiesPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will develop remains to be seen.
