September 10 marked the debut ofDynamax Pokemon inPokemon GOduring the game’s latest season, aptly titled “Max Out.” Themed around the Galar region’s Pokemon and the Dynamax form,Pokemon GO’sMax Out season will bring several limited-time events through December 3, including more Community Day events and the new Psychic Spectacular event. One of the first Research Day events for the Max Out season will focus on monkey and primate Pokemon from past events.
ThePokemon GOResearch Day: Oranguru and Passimian event will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During the event, players may receive new Field Research tasks from spinning Photo Discs atPokeStops inPokemon GO. Completing these tasks will grant players encounters with Oranguru and Passimian. If they’re lucky, players may also encounter a Shiny Passimian inPokemon GOfor the very first time. In the wild, players will also encounter Mankey, Aipom, Slakoth, Chimchar, and Grookey more often than usual. The boosted encounter rate for these Pokemon will mean that the chances of encountering a Shiny variant is slightly higher as well.
