For the first time, Shiny Zacian will be available inPokemon GOas part of the upcoming Legendary Heroes event. In addition, Niantic has revealed the return of Galarian Weezing, originally added toPokemon GOin 2019, in a dedicated event to celebrate the release ofPokemon Sword and Shield.
Featured in Gen 8,Zacian is a Fairy-typethat doesn’t evolve to or from any Pokemon but can unlock the Crowned Sword form when holding the Rusted Sword. Together with Zamazenta, Zacian composes the Legendary duo of Galar, a region that also introduced players to regional forms. One of the critters who has gained new forms is Koffing, who becomes Galarian Weezing, a critter whose two heads wear a long top hat and a mustache-like made of clouds.
Now,Pokemon GOhas announced the addition of shiny Zacian and the return of Galarian Weezing in the Legendary Heroes event that starts on September 26 at 10 am and ends on October 1 at 8 pm local time. Trainers will encounter Zacian in five-star raids, with the chance of the Legendary appearing in shining form. One of the event’s bonuses will allow Koffing to evolve into Galarian Weezing, while the other will cut thecost of Stardust in tradesby half. New Timed Research will be available, with players encountering different Pokemon according to the path they choose.

If they choose the Sword path, players will encounter Pokemon such as Gothita and Scraggy. But if they pick the Shield path, Larvitar and Oranguru will be among the possible encounters. All trainers will be able to encounter critters like Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Darumaka, and Scorbunny in the wild, battle in one-, three-, five-star raids, andMega raids with Mega Gardevoir. Collection Challenges will be available based on the path chosen, along with new Field Research tasks, and PokeStop Showcases. An Ultra Raid Box with three Remote Raid Passes and a Premium Battle Pass will be available on the Pokemon GO Web Store for $4.99 USD.
Pokemon GOplayers celebrated the announcement of the event, especially because of Galarian Weezing’s comeback, which, after debuting in 2019, had the shiny variant added in 2021 in theUltra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event. With the Poison/Fairy-type available again, trainers with a shiny Shadow Koffing will have the chance to evolve it, getting a special variant of the Pokemon. The addition of shiny Zacian is also something that trainers won’t want to miss, being able to add a special variant of a powerful creature to their collections.
