Summary

With October just weeks away, aPokemonfan artist designed a Ghost-type evolution concept for Eevee and shared their work on social media for all trainers to see. ThePokemonfan artist was also receptive to feedback on their ghostly Eeveelution concept, as other trainers offered different names for the new Pokemon.

Known as the Evolution Pokemon, Eevee first appeared inPokemon Red and Blue.Since then, Eevee has become one of the most popular critters in the entire Pokemon series. With the unique capability to evolve into one of eight Eeveelutions, the Eevee line represents half the Pokemon types currently available. Both Eevee and its Eeveelutions have beenthe subject of variousPokemonfan art projectsacross the years. However, the last time Eevee gained a new evolutionary form was inPokemon X and Y, when the Fairy-type Eeveelution called Sylveon was introduced to the series. Ergo, Eevee has not had a new Eeveelution in over a decade.

Although some Eevee fans have offeredvarious Eeveelution art concepts, one Pokemon trainer put together their version of what a Ghost-type evolution could look like. A Reddit user named Qobrosii created a Ghost-type Eeveelution art concept and shared their handiwork on the r/pokemon subreddit. Qobrosii’s ghostly creation was dubbed “Reapeon” as a portmanteau of the Grim Reaper and the -eon suffix that Eeveelutions have. Reapeon had a purple and black body, with eyes that glowed a dark pink shade. The top of Reapeon’s head had a black pattern that stretched from the forehead and covered half of its elongated ears. Reapeon also had paws similar to other Eeveelutions like Jolteon and Umbreon, a short tail, and a spectral mane adorning its neck and back. This mane was a translucent gray color with white spots reminiscent of eyes that glow in the dark.

Pokemon Fan Artist Shares Ghost-Type Eeveelution Concept

Qobrosii did not list information about Reapeon’s stats, moves, or abilities, and did not statewhat trainers would do to evolve Eeveeinto a Ghost Pokemon. In response to Qubrosii’s artwork, r/pokemon users said they liked the design of Reapeon, but many offered different names for the spectral critter to avoid potential misreading. The most popular names thatPokemontrainers suggested to Qobrosii were Spectreon, Ethereon, and Souleon.

DespiteGhost Pokemon being popular in competitivePokemonbattles, the ghastly type is one of the nine that have not yet received an official Eeveelution. Only time will tell if the upcomingPokemon Legends: Z-Awill buck that trend.
