Summary
A talentedPokemonfan has recently made artwork depicting a regional variant of Ho-Oh. ThePokemoncommunity loves to design new unofficial forms for popular creatures, and well-known Legendary Pokemon such as Ho-Oh are often some of the most popular picks for this kind of fan work.
Despite making a brief appearance in the first episode of thePokemonTV series, Ho-Oh was officially introduced in the second generation of the games. With its visuals inspired by a phoenix, Ho-Oh is a Fire/Flying-type Legendary monster featured on the cover ofPokemon Gold. In the game, the Legendary Pokemon can be found in Tin Tower, and players have only one chance at capturing it. Unlike some of theother Legendary Pokemon, however, Ho-Oh can be found in multiple games from different generations.
Now, a prolificPokemonfan artist called Meluharegion shared their latest creation on r/pokemon, a regional variant for Ho-Oh that comes from an Indian-inspired region. In this new artwork, Ho-Oh becomes a very colorful bird, with green, yellow, blue, and red feathers. While the creature’s new head still resembles its original form, the new variant has a tail inspired by a peacock and wears what seems to be a necklace.
Pokemon Fan Depicts Indian-Inspired Regional Variant for Ho-Oh
This is not the first regional variant designed by Meluharegion that was shared with the community. Last week, Meluharegion createdregional variants for Porygon and Porygon2. These new variants were inspired by the Egyptian culture and turned both critters into small brown monsters with Pharaoh crowns that acted as guard dogs in ancient tombs.
A few days ago, another artist shared fan art that depictedtwo alternative region variants of Slowbro. Called Slowmoe and Showbro, these are interesting designs that imagine Slowpoke using a discarded Clamvoy shell to adorn its body instead of being bitten by a Shellder. In their new forms, these creatures become charismatic critters with the Fairy subtype, and Showbro can even fly.
Another interesting artwork to be shared earlier this month was aDragon-type version of Torchic, which is said to come from mountainous regions. This alternative form for the starter comes with red feathers, green wings, a blue crest, and huge claws on its feet. According to its creator, the reason why the Pokemon has such huge feet is due to the mountains where it lives, and climbing all the time contributes to its strength. Hopefully, otherPokemonfans will continue to come up with amazing designs as good as these soon.
